Just Because it's Autumn

Hello... yes it's Jenny back again this week as I've swapped with Taheera and I have
a couple of autumnal cards... a twofer one...

I've used the Thankful Leaves Turnabout and stamped a pattern onto a piece of 6x6 kraft card using Distress Oxides. Instead of keeping one colour to one leaf or turn, I've multi inked the leaves so they're a rainbow of autumnal colours. I then cut five strips from around the edges of the large piece and adhered them to the card at different heights.

To make the water-coloured leaf embellishments I took the turnabout and stamped the
three large leaves again in multi distress inks and heat embossed them with clear
powder on watercolour card. The sentiment and banner comes from the Just Because die set.

I trimmed down the remaining piece of leafy cardstock and used the frame from the Just Because dies to cut
out a central panel. I love how this die cuts a narrow frame so I layered it with another
frame and adhered it inside the aperture.

I used the remaining two watercoloured leaves and then a sentiment from
Altenew's Signature Words die.... that raised frame just adds an extra dimension to the aperture :)

Those colours are just gorgeous.... can you tell Autumn is my favourite season :)

Layered Fushias

Do you have a favourite flower? It's hard to choose but I think Fuchsias have to be up there amongst my top five!! With so many colour combinations and flower shapes it will be fun colouring up this beautiful Fuchsia stamp from Avery Elle...

I have used Inktense pencils to paint these leaves and flowers after stamping the image on watercolour card. I used the matching die to cut them out and then fussy cut a few extra flowers and leaves from a second image to layer over the first.

Some of the petals were fiddly to cut but definitely worth it for the finished result.
The thin frame is from Concord & 9th's Just Because die set... I think it helps to place the image so it's not just floating in the white space, before adhering the frame I sponged on bundled Sage distress ink to break up the white.

The sentiment is from MFT's Handwritten happiness.... did you spot the boo-boo?? Yep I accidentally touched the stamp to the card whilst hovering and deciding on placement so I just used a pen to touch up the lines and make it look part of the swirly font design!! Phew 😉

Framed Flowers

Hello there :)

I've gone floral today and used the new Just Because dies from Concord & 9th to make a pretty framed scene....

Apologies for the photos, the lighting wasn't great when I took the them!

I've used one of the leafy dies and cut several from a piece of card that I'd sponged with various greens from the distress line.... I love that technique as you get such a variation of colour on each die cut.

I cut a couple of the thin frames using cream card and one with brown for the top layer of the stack then glued the stems behind the frame, allowing some to  peek over the edges.

To create a hill and sky in the background, I used the waste piece of card from cutting the frame as a mask to sponge inside...

That's what a whimsical meadow looks like in my imagination :)

I added the framed flowers over the top and then stamped a sentiment from Altenew's Birthday Greetings onto a separate piece of card. I adhered the banner with dimension at the fishtail end so I could tuck an extra leafy sprig and flower at that end of the sentiment.

I'm holding on to that thought of meadow flowers and summer days for now...
it'll help me get through the cold snap this week :)
