Floral hugs card

Hi everyone, it's Esther here and I've got some sad news... I'm stepping down from regular slots with the Seven Hills DT due to work commitments. I'll still be hanging around and guest designing occasionally, though!

Today I've got a simple floral hugs card using Altenew Extra Special, a stitched square panel from Lawn Fawn Large Stitched Square Stackables and Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens.

Thanks for all your lovely comments while I've been here, and I hope to see you again soon.

A quick floral friendship card

Hi everyone, it's Esther here with another quick card, this time a floral friendship one.

Why so many quick cards, you ask? Well, partly because I needed a few recently and partly because my craft stuff is packed away at the moment which is encouraging me to use minimal supplies!

I loved the effect a few weeks ago of using just the background stamp from the Concord & 9th Lace Leaf set, so this week I tried them same thing with Concord & 9th Hello Lovely. I totally love how it came out looking like designer paper!

I cut a panel of card and stamped it with the large flower background stamp and the petal background stamp in three shades of water based dye ink. I then stamped the sentiment in black ink. Finally, I die cut a feature rectangle with plain sides and dotted lines top and bottom using Avery Elle Pierced Banner Layer Ellements, and assembled the whole panel back together on a top folding card base.

Thanks for visiting and I'll see you again next week.

Sunny Big Hugs

Hi everyone, it's Esther here and today I've got a card featuring My Favorite Things Big Hugs Dienamic and a cute little sun from My Favorite Things Magical Unicorns. Perfect for a quick card to cheer up a friend or let someone know you're thinking of them!

I started by die cutting the Hugs die from a panel. I then lightly marked on the card base the tops and bottoms of the apertures of the letters. Using Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens, I shaded this area from dark to light yellow and set the base aside to dry.

On the die cut panel, I stamped the little sun repeatedly using waterproof ink, then shaded the suns from dark to light yellow to match the letter apertures.

When everything was dry, I adhered the panel to the base.

That's it for today - thanks for visiting!

Quick, clean and simple gratitude card

Hi everyone, Esther here with a quick, clean and simple gratitude card featuring Concord & 9th Lace Leaf and some bright ink colours!

I cut a panel of white heavyweight card stock, then inked up the watercolour effect background stamp from the Lace Leaf set and stamped it randomly in two different colours.

The sentiment is from the same set and was inked in Industrial Diamond from the Altenew Rock Collection Mini Ink Cube set.

I mounted the panel on a top folding card base, and that was it done! Perfect when you need something quickly.

Thanks for visiting :)

My Favorite Things Fancy Flowers and friendship

Hi everyone, it's Esther here. After the trauma of trying to find or make an envelope to fit last week's very long card, I returned to a plain ol' rectangle this time!

I started with a panel of card stock and cut it to size. I then inked a corner with water-based dye ink and splattered that heavily with water to bleach it for a patterned effect.

Next I stamped three flowers and stems from My Favorite Things Fancy Flowers, and coloured them with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens.

I stamped a sentiment from My Favorite Things Snuggle Bunnies, and then die cut a stitched frame using Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangle Frames. I popped this up on a matching frame of foam tape.

After that, it was quick and easy to assemble the various parts on to a top folding card base. It was even easier to find a suitably sized envelope!

That's it from me - see you next week!

Beautiful Butterflies card with My Favorite Things

Hi everyone, I've got a card for you today that uses the Beautiful Butterflies set from My Favorite Things.

I cut a long panel of heavyweight white card stock, and stamped three overlapping butterfly base layers in Limestone from Altenew Rock Collection Mini Ink Cubes. The next layers were done in Silver Stone and Industrial Diamond from the same set.

The fourth butterfly was stamped in brightly coloured water based dye inks and I added the same colours as splatters, along with some purple.

The sentiment strip is from My Favorite Things Magical Unicorns... it seemed to fit the theme of the card well :)

Thanks for stopping by!

Floral hello card with My Favorite Things

Hi everyone, Esther here with a floral hello card featuring My Favorite Things.

I started by die cutting a panel in dark blue card stock using the large stitched rectangle from Blueprints 29. I added matching flowers from the Stitched Flowers Dienamics, glued down flat. Then I die cut some smaller Stitched Flowers from a piece of watercolor card stock coloured with a pink Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pen, shaped them with a ball tool and glued them here and there in the spaces.

Finally I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment in gold, from Lil'Inker Designs Wreath of Roses and mounted the panel onto a top folding card base. I love the variety of sentiments in the Wreath of Roses set, all in gorgeous cursive handwriting.

That's it for today. Thanks for stopping by!

July Sketch Challenge Week 3

It's final reminder time to play along with our sketch challenge this month.  You can interpret it how you like, flip it, rotate it, use it for a page layout or a card or even a piece of artwork.  The shapes can be interpreted too (as you will see from our examples).  We just need to see that you used the sketch as the jumping off point for your inspiration.  As always you must use AT LEAST ONE product from the items we sell in store to be eligible for comments and the chance to win the £20 store voucher prize.

Here are some great examples from our final DT members to get your crafty juices flowing if you're stuck for ideas.

Esther

You've got until 10pm on Tuesday 25th July to play along - just link up using the linky tool on our challenge page when ready.  You can play along as many times as you like, and combine with other challenges as long as we can still see our sketch!

"Kraft", white and gold glitter birthday card

Hi everyone, Esther here with a card inspired by so many of the beautiful Kraft, white and gold creations seen on Pinterest over the last couple of years.

I decided to use a smoother, slightly more sandy colour of card stock, and started by heat embossing a large floral from My Favorite Things Fancy Flowers in white over the panel. I then die cut the panel to size using the stitched rectangle from My Favorite Things Blueprints 29 and mounted it on a top folding card base.

Next up was a sentiment, and I used Altenew Happy Die in white and gold glitter for the main part, and "birthday" from the matching set Altenew Halftone Happy. Once these were popped onto the panel, the card was finished.

Super simple, but I love the warm look of these colours together!

Thanks very much for visiting - have a great week and I'll see you next Wednesday.
