Found on Friday August Part 2

It's time to share more of the fabulous projects made by our customers and shared over in our VIP group over on Facebook.

Kicking us off this time we have this fun interactive card from Silvia Galloni using Lawn Fawn's Be Hap-pea stamps and their Pivot Pop-Up Die.  The two combine to make such a fun card and you get to lots of stamping fun by filling 3 sides of your card rather than just the normal outside front with this design.

Next up we have this really cool summer card from Linda van Wely using the Hey Summer stamps from Sugar Pea Designs - what a great card for all the dudes in your life!

Whilst we are on the summer theme, we have these fun interactive cards from Michele Seifert using Sunshine and Friendship from MFT.  How much fun would these be for kids who I find often show no interest in cards (well when the come with presents who can blame them) but having an element they can play with makes cards so much more interesting!

Next up we have another MFT based card - I love this little hedgie from Mirella Rogan - the sun ray back ground really makes him pop and the panel design is a great device for making a small image into a big feature!   The stamp is from MFT's Happy Hedgehogs and the rays are MFT's Radiating Rays stencil

Next up I wanted to share this fabulous card from Karen Breen - she made this for one of her instagram friends so using the insta-camera die in the background adds a really personal touch and Mama Elephant's Little Panda's are just the perfect accent.  The dies are Mama Elephant's Instalove.

I loved this tone-on-tone leafy stamping from Vanessa Reed Hodgson - the tonal shading around it make for such a classy design - you could do a set in different colours with different sentiments to make a fabulous gift set!   She used Altenew's Leaf Cluster stamp but we have several different leaf sets that could be used in a similar way - just pop "leaf" in the search box ;-)

This floral card also jumped out at me -  just look at all the gorgeous detail Vivien Hodge got into the petals and leaves - looks like a real pressed flower!  The soft striped background picking up the same colours makes for such a coherent design too.  The large flower is from Altenew's Beautiful Day and the other smaller elements from Remember This and the background is their watercolor stencil.

I'll finish this issue with this super cute gift tag from Claudia Emme - how adorable is that little monkey?   The tiny clouds really frame him well and make him stand out from the ink blended backgound too.  The monkey is from Mama Elephant's Little Agenda Monkey set and there are soooo many cute monkeys to choose from (and so many fun Little Agenda sets to mix and match them with!)

If you shop with us, then you too can join our VIP group - just head over to Facebook and provide an order number to gain access to this closed group.  It's a fun place where customers share makes and chat crafts (and get insider gossip on the store too!)   We'll be back with two more Found-on-Friday blog posts in September (and every month thereafter!)

Found on Friday August Part 1

It's that time of the month again where I feature here on the blog those makes that caught my eye over in our customer only group on Facebook.

First off this fabulous kitty calendar from Rebekka really jumped out at me.  Newton's Look at all the fun stuff she has Newton doing every month.   Rebekka used a variety of Nook stamps to decorate the Hero Arts Calendar Kit - what a fabulous gift this would be!

I really love how Helen has used the Crystal Frame die from Altenew and decorated it with flowers in the same tone - great way to make a cohesive design and to turn small elements into a focal point.

Sophie's brother-in-law runs a dog walking business so this is the perfect personalised birthday card for him using the Lawn Fawn Critter Chat Pets in their Speech Bubble Backdrop Die.

How could you not be drawn to this super cute pirate card by Emma?  Cutting the dome frame to pop the scene in the background is a really clever technique and gives room to show off the Party Like a Pirate set to it's fullest.

Sympathy cards are never an easy thing to make, but this one Jess made is perfect in it's simplicity.  The vintage flower stamp from Concord & 9th has so much detail that simple monochrome is all it needs especially paired with a big bold sentiment.

Julie had lots of fun making lots of Snapdragon cards and there were all knock-out, but I picked just one that really caught my eye.  I loved how the tonal stencilled background really worked so well with the flowers - especially how the florals interact with the geometrics.  Fab!

Finally in this edition, we have a fabulous Christmas card from Jodie - let's face it, it will be here before we know it so I guess we should all get making Christmas cards soon!   She created a fun little scene using Mama Elephant's Little Agenda train full of presents ready for the big day!

Hope this highlights a few sets you may not have seen in use before - we try our best as a DT to highlight what we can, but there are just too many releases to do justice so sharing as many great customer makes is another way to provide you with crafty inspiration.

If you want to join in and have your makes featured here, then head to the Facebook group and join the fun.   You have to be a Seven Hills Crafts customer to join us, so will be asked to provide an order number before joining the group so grab an invoice before signing up.  https://www.facebook.com/groups/shcvips/

We'll be back with our next edition of Found on Friday at the end of August so you've got a couple of weeks to start adding your makes to the group for a chance to be featured, and we do it every 2 weeks after that!

Found on Friday July Part 2

It's time for the second edition of our regular Found on Friday feature where we feature projects made by our customers using products we sell in store.   Our customers share these makes in our customer only VIPs group here on Facebook and I check through each month and pick the makes that catch my eye.

I'm starting with a few rainbows - all different - but who doesn't love a rainbow colour scheme?  First off we have this adorable new baby card from Felix - I really love the idea of stamping the name repeatedly to fill the background and the rainbow colour scheme makes it super fun!  If you want to give it a try then grab the Milo's Alphabet she used - it's probably my all-time favourite alphabet stamp.

Jodie also created a super rainbow cloud background which is the perfect background for her Book Worm Squidgy by Stamping Bella.   It's like her dreams are rising from the book.

My final rainbow is the fabulous number from Claudia.   She's gone to town with masking and repeat stamping using Mama Elephant's Birthday Bash stamp to fill her background before colouring it like a rainbow - how could that not fill you with cheer on your birthday?!?!?

From rainbows to ombre - Karen made a number of these cards in lots of colour ways and I love the design but also cos you get 2 cards from one die cut session!  She used one of my favourite die sets - brilliant size for spelling out lots of words for cards - Little Letters by MFT.

What caught my eye with this card was the shape of the design - I do love an usual design I've not seen before and this circular easel style card is such fun!  Sophie used a range of birthday themed stamps from Lawn Fawn to create this card but with a set of circle dies you could take the shape down any theme you like!

For my final card this month I went with this super cute set of kitties from Fiona - you all know I'm a sucker for a stamp with a cat, but I also loved how she framed the image and made the sentiment part of the frame - it really works!    The image is Squishy Cats by Stamping Bella.

That's all for this edition - we'll be back with 2 more editions in August so get sharing your makes to the VIP group if you want to be featured on the blog and our social media feeds.

Found on Friday July Part 1

It's time to share our customer makes again.  We have a VIP group that is only open to customers and its a great place to share projects made using SHC products amongst friends.  I can then pick out all the projects that catch my eye and share them here twice a month.  https://www.facebook.com/groups/shcvips/

Kicking us off for this issue is Justine with her gaggle of Babette's from Stamping Bella.   What a fantastic collection!

Next up its Laura who's getting ahead for Halloween with the super cute ghosties checking out the ectoplasm is a jar.  I love the glow - great use of alcohol inks on the jar.   Mama Elephant aren't releasing again until September 15th but we'll be restocking the ghosts later this month.

From ghosts to dinosaurs - I loved Nicole's prehistoric scene - her blended sky is just terrific and how cute is the little baby using his mum's tail as a slide!

And talking of scenes - this one from Emma really stood out too - a fabulous summer scene to set off the Birdie Brown character to perfection!

And whilst we're talking summer - Sophie's summer circles are super fun.   I like how she took the little gamer outside and popped him on the beach too - it's always good to look at your stamps with a "what else could they do eye"!

Finally in this issue I've selected Karen's gorgeous shaker card full of panda fun!   What a great way to highlight each adorable little bear by popping them in their own frame full of colourful shaker love behind!

Hope you've found lots of inspiration in these amazing cards.   If you're a customer, then head over to the group and join the fun - you need an order number to prove you're a customer to gain entry but then are free to share anything you've made with products we sell!   https://www.facebook.com/groups/shcvips/

We'll be back with our second helping of Found on Friday inspiration the last week of July so you've got time to join in the fun, and we do it every month so no worries if you're out having summer fun and not crafting - join now, share later!

Found On Friday - June Part Two!

It's the final Friday of the month so time for our regular "Found on Friday" feature where we select customer makes to share with you from our private "SHC VIP's GROUP" over on Facebook.

I'm starting the issue with this bright and bold Father's Day card from Natalie that just really make me smile.  She used some of my favourite products from Avery Elle - Sea-prise for the fabulous shark and Swell for the background.

Danielle's big bold butterfly card really screamed pick me from the VIP group too - her alcohol inked background is just gorgeous against the black silhouette!

Jodie's clean and simple Oddball Turtle by Stamping Bella also stood out - sometimes a great image is all you need to make a fabulous card and here Jodie's colouring and the colours she chose for her background layers just really makes him sing!

Ushii's really soft no line colouring makes this card simply dreamy and I love how she paired images from Joy Ornaments with Pix from Mama Elephant.  I hope pink is still on trend this coming Christmas as I loved it being so popular last year!

Anne-Marie added real depth and detail to this card by using the Waffle Flower Nested domes and I love all the details surrounding the chef and his little friend!

Sometimes however you don't need layers to be effective - one layer cards sometimes scare people, but I love them and Charlotte created one to absolute perfection here using Papa Bear from Newton's Nook.  I love how she created a "frame" but has just a couple of elements flowing beyond it - a really clever way to trick your eye.

That's my pick for this month - we'll be back again with two more selections in July so don't forget to head on over to the VIP (customer only) group on Facebook and get sharing your makes if you want to be featured in a future edition.   Make sure you comment on what supplies you've used so I can easily work it out and write about it!

Found on Friday June Part One

It's the second Friday of the month so time for our regular "Found on Friday" feature where we select customer makes to share with you from our private "SHC VIP's GROUP" over on Facebook.

Cards for Dad featured in the group quite heavily this month as Father's Day is coming up on Sunday.  Claire made this super cool record player card using  MFT's Turntable Die.

Emma made this brilliant interactive card using the fun planes and banners from Lawn Fawn's Plane and Simple stamp set.   If you want to know how she made it all spin - find the card in the VIP group and follow the link to her blog.

Kate's card really caught my eye - its a fabulous little scene using MFT's Our Story and I loved the added realism from the embossing for the wallpaper and wooden floor.

Mermaidens also featured strongly this month in the group and we loved a couple in particular - this fabulous shoal of mermaids in Claudia's fun box card - she's packed so much detail into one little card!

Silvia also took the Mermaidens for a swim in her cool card with a surprise inside!

We loved how she changed the shape of the Inside Arch die to create waves for the mermaids to swim on - great way to stretch your stash!

Finally in this issue of Found on Friday I'm sharing this fabulous framed make from Maja - I do love to use my card make supplies to make gifts whenever I can so this really stood out to me.  Awesome way to show off the fabulous felt Unicorn made with Neat and Tangled dies.

If you want to see your makes featured here in a future edition (we'll be back on the last Friday of the month) then join our group (you have to be a Seven Hills Crafts customer, so will need a valid order number to gain entry) and start sharing your makes with everyone there.  Just leave a note of what you've used in the comments on your photo.

I'll be back on Sunday with one of my makes and a run down of what to expect in store next week.

Found on Friday

It's time for another edition of our popular Found on Friday feature where we select projects that caught our eye in our customer only VIP group on Facebook.   We're going to run this feature twice a month from now on.

Kicking us off in this issue we have this awesome selfie-style photo card from Emma.   She's clustered together all the animals on the farm from MFT's The Whole Herd stamp set and her no-line colouring on them adds some realism to the photo!

Next up we have Kate's awesome Kraken card using the newly released Legendary Stamp set from Avery Elle.  I loved how she got such shimmer into the sea and how stamping that one word in the sentiment in a different colour really emphasises the pun.

We also loved how Claudia turned the die designed to make raindrops sideways to turn them into shooting stars!   She used the Falling from the Clouds die from MFT which is sadly out of stock, but we will get it back as soon as we can.

Sometimes we want to use a small image on a card that can look lost on its own - Natalie shows on her fabulous congratulations card that you can give weight to a focal image with a great background die.   The Chevron Mat die from Avery Elle she used is on sale too if you fancy giving her idea a go!

Sylvia created this really fun card combining a couple of sets of Mama Elephant's Little Agenda sets - Fairies in the sky and Mermaiden in the ocean on her gorgeous tall card.    I think we often forget to shop our stash and look at how we can combine different sets and Sylvia's card is a perfect reminder to do just that!

Finally in this issue we have Anne-Marie's brilliant trifold jungle themed birthday card - we loved how you just get a little peek of the birthday surprise hiding in those leaves with the elephant from Big News before you open it fully to reveal the Wild Roar in the back!

There are so many incredible cards being shared in the group I wish I could pick them all every issue!   So if you think you are missing out (and you are if you haven't joined) then head on over to the group - provide a valid order number to gain entry as it really is only for customers - then join in the fun and crafty conversations.

We'll be back with the next issue mid-June!
