Found on Friday November

It's time for our November edition of Found on Friday where I feature the projects that caught my eye over in our VIP's group on Facebook where our customers share their makes and chat crafty stuff.

First up, Vanessa used one of my favourite Christmas sets from this year - the fabulous Polar Playtime set from Avery Elle and in this gorgeous creation Vanessa has really shown how much fun they're having!

Lorraine also looks like she's been having lots of fun making this adorable kitty treat boxes using Lawn Fawn's Tiny Gift Box dies and the Cat Add On Dies.   I really like the festive addition of the tiny hat too!

This adorable CAS card from Sophie Marsden really spoke to me  - the cool colours match the cool sentiment and the yeti delivering presents by snowboard is super fun!   She used Yeti or Not by Lawn Fawn.

Christiane Wo also shared a fabulous yeti - this time using Stamping Bella's Yeti and Santa set - I really loved the fur she coloured on her Yeti it made me want to cuddle him!

Sticking with the chilly winter theme, I wanted to share this adorable card by Linda - I really liked the birds perched on the sentiment as it adds great balance to the design and the bold sky really makes the penguins pop!   She used Mama Elephant's Fuzzy Hugs.

Sue's card also gave me a warm and fuzzy feeling - the hugging foxes from Lawn Fawn's Winter Skies and I just love how she popped them with their tails hanging down from her circular sky background.  Adorable!

And talking of warm winter feelings - what could be better on a snowy day than a steaming mug of marshmallow topped hot chocolate and a pile of Christmas cookies?   Well Kimberley's version is calorie free but no less delicious!   She used Wplus9's Cookies and Cocoa set.

Felix had a great idea for batch producing her Christmas cards - a textured white background decorated with fabulous sparkly baubles using the fabulous layering set from Altenew - Brilliant Baubles.  Adding gold embossed details on the final layer is a fabulous way to make them pop.

Anne Marie Wilson also had a really great way to make interesting baubles - she's cut baubles from card she's stamped with festive florals using the Mama Elephant's Pine and Posy set.  Really elegant and beautiful!

It's not entirely been Christmas projects that were shared this month though - Katya shared this adorable gate fold card using Wplus9's Modern Peonies for the focal image as well as MFT's Snowfall Background stamp on the front and Hero Arts Infinity Heart dies.  Love the belly-band sentiment to keep it closed too!

Kate Orme is new to cardmaking and this is one of her first cards - we think you've found your perfect hobby Kate!   Picking the colours for her images from the rainbow backing papers shows she has a great eye for colour and the different shaped elements are a great design!  She used the Sweet Birthday Wishes set from MFT stamps.

Finally in this issue we'll finish with this fabulous floral design from Helen Bates.  Helen used the Build-a-Flower Fuchsia set from Altenew and framed it to perfection using their Frilly Frame die in her tone-on-tone background.

Hope you've been inspired by our customers fabulous makes - and if you want to be featured in December then pop on over to the group and share your makes - please leave a note of what sets you used in the comments on your photo to make it easier for me to share your makes and link to the products in store.   https://www.facebook.com/groups/shcvips/

I'll be back on Sunday with my make.

Found on Friday October

It's time to celebrate our talented customers again with our regular "Found on Friday" feature here on the blog where we highlight makes that caught our eye over in our SHC VIP's group on Facebook.

First off this month I wanted to feature Kieron's amazing record collection card - how awesome would it be to get such a fabulous card?   I loved the little pocket full of records at the top of the player which really took this make over the top.  Kieron used the Greatest Hits stamps and dies from Sugar Pea Designs for this make.

I also really loved this fabulous see-through snow globe card that Felix made - seeing behind the snowman inside the card takes a standard shaker to the next level!   Felix used the Classic Snow Globe Die set from MFT.

Whilst we're looking at inside and outside cards, I also wanted to feature this super cute alligator birthday card from Sarah Kaplan.   The pop up elements inside just make it extra special!    Sarah used the Later Alligator set from Neat & Tangled.

Sticking with the birthday theme - I just loved this tall card with the mahusive cake made by Annamaria.  That's my kinda cake!  Anna used the small but mighty Cake Layers die from Concord & 9th.

Michele created this perfect autumnal card using MFT's Squirrel stamp which is perfectly framed against the stencilled background square.

Annemarie created a really spooky and atmospheric background for this fabulous Halloween card which really displays the fabulous witch from MFT's Witch Way is the Candy stamp - her fabulous colouring really makes her pop!

I'll finish with a flurry of Christmas cards - its time to get serious about making them now to avoid that last minute panic (or is that just me lol!)

Firstly I loved the beautiful colour blending on this beauty from Natty.   She embossed the foliage frames stamp from Neat & Tangled and used the co-ordinating die to cut the shaped frame from the centre.  The glittery snowflake is the perfect embellishment!

Jackie created her first ever shaker card using the Trim the Tree die from Concord and 9th - great job Jackie!   I'm sure it won't be her last - I loved the embossed ornament details to match the gold shaker elements.

Paulina shared this fabulous set of cards she made turning a heap of previously stamped backgrounds into actual cards!   She used Lil' Inker Designs Festive Florals to stamp her backgrounds and Concord and 9th's Banner Die.

Jodie used Stamping Bella's Tangled Yeti to make this super cute Christmas card - who couldn't fail to smile at a yeti all wrapped up in Christmas lights!

Finally for this issue of Found on Friday, I wanted to feature this fabulous floral card from Linda - the mirror stamping of Pine and Cosy from Mama Elephant makes for such an elegant card, especially when paired with just a hint of glitter in the sentiment!

We'll be back with more Found on Friday features in November so if you want to be featured on the blog and are a customer of our store - head on over to our private SHC VIPs group on Facebook (you need a valid order number to gain entry as it is strictly for our customers only) and link up your projects using items you bought in store.   Please leave a note of what you used to make it easier to link you up.

Found on Friday - September Part 2

It's time for another look at what our fabulous customers have been making and sharing over in our SHC VIP's group on Facebook today and we have some wonderful inspiration coming your way from them!

First off this month we have this fun card from Claudia - I really love how she cut the So Many Snowman set from Mama Elephant into blocks and mounted them on black - gives the card a comic book feel and is a great way to get a different look from a stamp designed to cover the front of a card.

Sticking with the winter them I loved this cute card from Roz - I love the little scene inside the cut-out tree shape on the front.  What an interesting way to to create a focal point.  Roz used lots of Lawn Fawn products in the card, Mice on Ice, Winter Village, Christmas Tree Die and Ho Ho Holidays.

And another fabulous Christmas card was popped in the group by Silvia - I loved her inside pop feature - great way to make a card really special by adding a surprise inside.  She used more Lawn Fawn - Ho Ho Holidays and Yeti or Not.

One final Christmas card this issue - this gorgeous shaker card from Linda - I love the clear elements in the dark winter sky on this shaker, makes it feel super frosty!  Linda used Snow Friends and the Forest cover Die from Mama Elephant.

We'll leave Christmas behind for now and share this fun birthday Card from  Annamaria.  I love how the sentiment on the inside ties in so well with the cake on the outside!  She used the Confetti Turnabout Stamp and Cake Layers Die from Concord and 9th on the outside and the Hey Winter set from Sugar Pea Designs on the inside.

Finally for this issue I wanted to feature Kerry's fun layout.  I love how the flowers scattered across the page draw your eyes into the focal images - looks like it was a fun meet up too!   Kerry used Altenew's Doodle Blooms for this scrapbook page.

I hope you found as much inspiration in these makes as I did!   If you want to join in for a chance to be in a future Found on Friday issue, then head over to customer only group and join in the fun chat!   You must have a valid order number to gain entry - you will be asked to provide it when you click to join the group so find one first.  This is the way we can keep the group just for our customers.  https://www.facebook.com/groups/shcvips/

Found on Friday September Part 1

It's time to share inspiration from our fabulous customers from our SHC VIPs group on Facebook.   We do this every couple of weeks and pick out the projects that catch our eye, so if you shop with us, and aren't in the group - grab an invoice so you can quote a valid order number to gain entry to the group then come and join the fun.

Let's kick off with a couple of masculine makes - I know it's something lots of you struggle with, and we have a couple of great examples this month.

Firstly Parmi Mudhar has a really cool idea for kicking in something extra to the re-issued All Star High Top Die from MFT by turning it into a reveal wheel card.   What a fun idea!

Then we have this awesome idea for twisting up a cupcake from Justine Pearmain who added a pile of footballs to the Altenew Layered Cupcake base - just use the guy's team colours on the cupcake base and you're all set!

Next whilst we're taking cupcakes - how about this awesome super-sized one done in the no-line colouring technique by Tina Mathison using Colorado Craft Company's Sweet Friend Cupcake.  Tina is Danish and the sentiment says Congratulations in her language.

Kate Wilson created these fun banners and coloured them to look like her husband and her - what a fun idea!   She used Stitched Party Banners from Lawn Fawn and Lumberjack Love stamps from Neat and Tangled.

Finally in this issue I want to finish with this awesome new baby gift made byAnne Marie Wilson - I am always a big advocate of doing more with our "card making" supplies.  Just think bigger and homemade gifts are always better than store bought as they are much more personal.   She used MFT's cloud stencil for the background, added the name using MFT alaphabet and number dies and then some super cute bunnies from Mama Elephant's Wish Upon a Star set.

Hope you found some inspiration in these fabulous makes.  We'll be back at the end of the month with our next issue of Found on Friday!

Found on Friday August Part 2

It's time to share more of the fabulous projects made by our customers and shared over in our VIP group over on Facebook.

Kicking us off this time we have this fun interactive card from Silvia Galloni using Lawn Fawn's Be Hap-pea stamps and their Pivot Pop-Up Die.  The two combine to make such a fun card and you get to lots of stamping fun by filling 3 sides of your card rather than just the normal outside front with this design.

Next up we have this really cool summer card from Linda van Wely using the Hey Summer stamps from Sugar Pea Designs - what a great card for all the dudes in your life!

Whilst we are on the summer theme, we have these fun interactive cards from Michele Seifert using Sunshine and Friendship from MFT.  How much fun would these be for kids who I find often show no interest in cards (well when the come with presents who can blame them) but having an element they can play with makes cards so much more interesting!

Next up we have another MFT based card - I love this little hedgie from Mirella Rogan - the sun ray back ground really makes him pop and the panel design is a great device for making a small image into a big feature!   The stamp is from MFT's Happy Hedgehogs and the rays are MFT's Radiating Rays stencil

Next up I wanted to share this fabulous card from Karen Breen - she made this for one of her instagram friends so using the insta-camera die in the background adds a really personal touch and Mama Elephant's Little Panda's are just the perfect accent.  The dies are Mama Elephant's Instalove.

I loved this tone-on-tone leafy stamping from Vanessa Reed Hodgson - the tonal shading around it make for such a classy design - you could do a set in different colours with different sentiments to make a fabulous gift set!   She used Altenew's Leaf Cluster stamp but we have several different leaf sets that could be used in a similar way - just pop "leaf" in the search box ;-)

This floral card also jumped out at me -  just look at all the gorgeous detail Vivien Hodge got into the petals and leaves - looks like a real pressed flower!  The soft striped background picking up the same colours makes for such a coherent design too.  The large flower is from Altenew's Beautiful Day and the other smaller elements from Remember This and the background is their watercolor stencil.

I'll finish this issue with this super cute gift tag from Claudia Emme - how adorable is that little monkey?   The tiny clouds really frame him well and make him stand out from the ink blended backgound too.  The monkey is from Mama Elephant's Little Agenda Monkey set and there are soooo many cute monkeys to choose from (and so many fun Little Agenda sets to mix and match them with!)

If you shop with us, then you too can join our VIP group - just head over to Facebook and provide an order number to gain access to this closed group.  It's a fun place where customers share makes and chat crafts (and get insider gossip on the store too!)   We'll be back with two more Found-on-Friday blog posts in September (and every month thereafter!)

Found on Friday August Part 1

It's that time of the month again where I feature here on the blog those makes that caught my eye over in our customer only group on Facebook.

First off this fabulous kitty calendar from Rebekka really jumped out at me.  Newton's Look at all the fun stuff she has Newton doing every month.   Rebekka used a variety of Nook stamps to decorate the Hero Arts Calendar Kit - what a fabulous gift this would be!

I really love how Helen has used the Crystal Frame die from Altenew and decorated it with flowers in the same tone - great way to make a cohesive design and to turn small elements into a focal point.

Sophie's brother-in-law runs a dog walking business so this is the perfect personalised birthday card for him using the Lawn Fawn Critter Chat Pets in their Speech Bubble Backdrop Die.

How could you not be drawn to this super cute pirate card by Emma?  Cutting the dome frame to pop the scene in the background is a really clever technique and gives room to show off the Party Like a Pirate set to it's fullest.

Sympathy cards are never an easy thing to make, but this one Jess made is perfect in it's simplicity.  The vintage flower stamp from Concord & 9th has so much detail that simple monochrome is all it needs especially paired with a big bold sentiment.

Julie had lots of fun making lots of Snapdragon cards and there were all knock-out, but I picked just one that really caught my eye.  I loved how the tonal stencilled background really worked so well with the flowers - especially how the florals interact with the geometrics.  Fab!

Finally in this edition, we have a fabulous Christmas card from Jodie - let's face it, it will be here before we know it so I guess we should all get making Christmas cards soon!   She created a fun little scene using Mama Elephant's Little Agenda train full of presents ready for the big day!

Hope this highlights a few sets you may not have seen in use before - we try our best as a DT to highlight what we can, but there are just too many releases to do justice so sharing as many great customer makes is another way to provide you with crafty inspiration.

If you want to join in and have your makes featured here, then head to the Facebook group and join the fun.   You have to be a Seven Hills Crafts customer to join us, so will be asked to provide an order number before joining the group so grab an invoice before signing up.  https://www.facebook.com/groups/shcvips/

We'll be back with our next edition of Found on Friday at the end of August so you've got a couple of weeks to start adding your makes to the group for a chance to be featured, and we do it every 2 weeks after that!
