Rainbow Set of Cards

Hey stampers, Anni here!

Today I have a set of cards for you in rainbow colours featuring a lot of mini sets by Lawn Fawn.

Lawn Fawn's Aloha

I love these small sets: They have a great prize point, they have all that you need for a card - a cute image and -often a punny- sentiment. AND they are the perfect little gift for the crafty friends in your life.

Lawn Fawn's Happy Summer

I chose six mini sets from my stash (to be honest I have much more) that would go with colours from the rainbow (okay I added in grey).

Lawn Fawn's Duh-Nuh

Then I went through my big pile of patterend paper and picked out papers that went with the images. I die cut My Favorite Things' Stitched Pinking Edge Square STAX out of the papers.

Lawn Fawn's RAWR

When I create a set of course I always do every step for all cards at once: I do all the die cutting, stamp all the images and colour them all in one step. The colour of the papers set the choice of colour for the colouring - I went with a alcohol markers.

I also added in rosie cheeks, a grey ground and I went around the images with an light aqua colour.

Lawn Fawn's Sealed with a Kiss

And in this photo you can see the whole setof cards.

Thanks for stopping by and have a crafty weekend.
Anni

Saying Goodbye with my ‘Ride or dies’.

Hi everybody,

Jill here, and this week, well, this week the time has come to say goodbye.  This will be my last post as a regular DT member for the awesome, incredible, off-the-scale amazing, Seven Hills Crafts, and I thought the only way to go out was with a mash-up of my all time fave, my ‘Ride or Die’, the one, the only....

Mama Elephant!

I’ve also thrown in a sneaky nod to my first ever post for Seven Hills Crafts and recreated the same background using one of my all-time favourite techniques with one of my all-time favourite mediums: die-inlay and watercolour.
So like I say, I simply had to showcase Mama Elephant in my farewell post.  They’ve been my favourite stamping company for so long.  I simply adore their characters, bursting with personality through their sweet, whimsical illustrations, always accompanied by some meaningful sentiments in some beautiful font.  I love em!  Always have, always will.  So I thought it would be quite fun, and only fitting, to grab a few of my absolute faves, and create a sweet little scene to wish all of you, all the happiness in the world.

I started by taking a panel of watercolour card and, using Mama Elephant’s Landscape Trio, cut my background into pieces.  I then cut Mama Elephants ‘Happy Script Die’ a ton of times and built on top of each other.  I then coloured each piece of my background, and the top piece of my ‘Happy’ sentiment using Distress Inks mixed with water, and set aside to dry.
I then stamped out my gorgeous Mama Elephant friends from various sets.  The rabbit is Lunar Animals, the hedgehog and cutest mouse in the universe (now see, this is what I mean with Mama Elephant, the teeniest tiniest image can turn my heart to mush and make me NEEEED an entire set!) are from Ella and Friends, and my cool dude doggy riding his skateboard is from Little Dog Agenda.  I coloured all my friends using, of course, my all-time favourite colour medium...my ever faithful trusty Zigs, and fussy-cut leaving a wee white edge.
I finished off my sentiment by stamping onto black card and white heat-embossing, then built up my scene adhering everything in place.

So there you have it, a feast of faves all in one place!  I really hope you like it and of course, everything I used is linked below.

So all that’s left is for me to say ‘Goodbye’.  I would like to thank each and every one of you for taking the time to read, comment, or simply look at my posts week after week; your time and kindness is so very much appreciated.  And of course to my Design Team members, and to the fantastic Mr & Mrs Seven Hills Crafts themselves, Tara and Rick.  I thank you with all my heart for such an incredible opportunity to play a part in such an amazing company and community, it has been an absolute honour and I have loved every second of it!

My face will hopefully still pop up here and there from time to time, but from me to you, take care of yourselves and I wish you all, Happy Everything xxx

Hello Summer Card

Hi everyone, Taheerah here wishing you a happy Thursday!

I don't know about you, but I have been absolutely loving this heat wave. I'm always cold and for the first time in forever I can actually leave my coat at home and feel warm!

Yes, Summer has finally come to the UK. So what better way to celebrate than with the Neat & Tangled Hello Summer stamp set! With its fun subway art style and mix and match sentiments we can welcome this season with style!

I couldn't wait to put it to use:

Isn't the finished look awesome?!

I started by impressing the Avery Elle Starburst die into my card panel, then stamped the 'Summer' using a blend of different inks for an ombre look. Spritzing the stamp with water helped the colours blend even more.

A companion 'hello' sentiment and some shimmer mist finished off the look perfectly! I even let the 'Summer' bleed a little more because let's face it, we're all melting a little in this heat. *smile*

I'd love to hear what you think of this card. Is there someone you know who'd love to receive it? Thanks for stopping by!

Welcome, Little One!

Hello, Tallie here.

Today I have a couple of baby cards featuring the MFT Hello, Little One set. I made one in pink and one in blue, though I plan to colour up some more in green and purples sometime in the near future.

I stamped out the characters in the set onto some blending card stock using some MFT Black Hybrid ink. I coloured them in with my alcohol markers, keeping to pinky-reds and teals, with some warm greys for the stork. I cut these out with my Scan N Cut, though there are coordinating dies available.

On two A6 top folding white card bases I lightly blended some Broken China and Abandoned Coral Distress Oxide inks, concentrating the majority of the colour in the centre of the card to give something to back my characters. I also blended the same colours, this time heavier, onto another piece of cardstock which I ran through my die cutting machine using the MFT Congrats die. The Lawn Fawn Scripty Congrats die is a great alternative. I layered these up twice and then covered them in a layer of Wink of Stella.

I arranged the elements onto the card, adhering them with some liquid glue. Using the same inks as the backgrounds, I stamped out a sentiment from the set onto a slim strip of card, popping this up on some foam tape. A few sequins and a little more glitter and here are some fun cards any expectant/new parents will love!

Thanks for reading, catch you next week.

Florals and Circles

Hello, Gemma here today sharing a geometric design with simple stamping. I love designs that are quick and easy to recreate if you need a card in a hurry.

For this technique, you need either a circle stencil or a set of circle dies in various sizes to make your own stencil.

I blended on different sized circles onto a white card base, overlapping some and varying the blending pressure to get lighter and darker tones. I kept the colour scheme very simple, only using three colours - purple, green and grey.

Next, I picked a line style floral stamp set. Altenew Hello Sunshine has a lovely mix of florals, with some nice details which work well for this technique. I stamped some of the flowers in black ink over the circles.

I left space in the centre for a sentiment from the Altenew Celebrate stamp set, and heat embossed them in gold. To finish, I added some clear sparkle to the flowers and a few sequins around the card.

Thanks for joining me today,
Gemma

Letterboard Love

Have you noticed that Letter Message Boards are an 'on trend' accessory for the home at the moment? Well I was pleased to see them make an appearance in the crafting world too... basically what I'm saying is, I had to have the Letter Message Board die by Sugar Pea Designs....

They are good for any type of occasion but excellent for witty quotes or punny sentiments and this one is a classic!!
I started by stamping out the various shapes of lollies from Sugar Pea's Summer Scoops stamp set using different inks. I used selective inking and masking to get the shading and multi-colour effects. Dies are available but I stamped them out with lolly sticks in place so I just used scissors for the simple shapes.

The alphabet that comes with the letter message board is all joined as one die which actually makes life a lot easier!! I just keep it handy on my desk and run it through with any scraps of white card leftover from projects and put all the letters in a small box ready for another time. For this design I wanted to highlight the word ICE so I used Lawn Fawns Finley's ABC's which is unfortunately out of stock at the moment but will be here in a couple of weeks with Lawn Fawn re-stocks..... but any large simple font would work instead.

I love the striking look of the colours against the black backdrop. I think I will have a lot of fun with this die set 😉

Thanks for stopping by :)

Playing with pattern

I'm continuing my theme from Friday of doing more with backgrounds than just backgrounds today by playing with patterns.   I created a 6x6 patterned piece using the Concord & 9th Retro Petals Stencils and inking it with my favourite 5 colours and then used that to make two quick cards.   I love how you can get so many different patterns my layering up the 3 stencils.

I used AlteNew's Bold Alphabet die to die cut "hello" from the patterned piece and also a few little stars.  These simple elements on a black card make a really bold statement.  If you use the negative space of your die cut to help align the letters then the pattern moves seamlessly across the gaps.

I still had a strip of pattern wide enough to fill a 6x4 card so decided to do a reverse of the first card cutting the letters from black and using the pattern as a background.  I added a cute heart from Waffle Flower crafts and the word "lovely" spelt out using the Birdie Brown Alphabet and Numbers stamp set - great to spell out words you can't find stamps for especially if you have other birdie brown stamp sets as then the fonts match!

That's all I had time for this weekend as we've been stuck in the hot attic building ikea furniture!
