21st Birthday Balloons

Hi there and happy Monday to you :)

Do you remember the box card I made a few weeks ago for our daughters graduation?
Well, as promised, I have revisited the 3D design this week and filled the box with birthday balloons instead... in fact they are all floating out

I used the trusty strips of acetate again to give the illusion of floating balloons but what I can't capture in the photo is how they move in the slight hint of a breeze :) The balloons are Paper Smooches Big Balloon dies which I've cut in various shades and types of card..

The 2 and 1 are hand-drawn by myself and cut from black glitter card... another option would be the Numbered Balloons dies by Avery Elle which I had planned to use, but they were going to get lost amongst the others.  To decorate the flaps of the box I stamped the Happy Birthday background from MFT onto panels of white card to make a subtle pattern and then inked the edges before attaching to the flaps...

The greeting is made from a couple of Paper Smooches dies.... the Birthday Words die and the
Sassy Letters dies, both of which are currently out of stock but these are a personal preference so any dies or stamps could be used here.

It's such good fun building these cards... once you've made the basic box you can let your creativity run wild for those special birthdays. How about filling a box with the Birthday Candles from MFT... not recommended for safety reasons in real life ..Lol... but they would look good cut in striped patterned papers popping out of the box :) This box card is for a friends daughter who is a special young lady and I know shell love all those bright balloons in her favourite colours :)

Thanks for stopping by, see ya'll next week :)

  1. It looks so difficult but it's super easy . You guys have explained it very well. I have tried it for my girlfriend's birthday. It was exactly the same in the picture. But it can’t be possible without your instruction. So thank you so much and please keep uploading this kind of stuff!
