Trees, trees and more trees!

So last week I fessed up to being a bauble-aholic, however when it comes to Christmas stamps, my biggest hoarding issue is Christmas trees.  My friend and I did contemplate running a Christmas tree challenge blog a few years ago as I have sooooo many I could do a different one each week for at least a couple of years..........

So naturally I had to have the new ones that came out this month, honestly I have a problem!

The Filled Christmas trees from Lil' Inker Designs are just magical.  I stamped all 3 and embossed them with different colours - green, gold and copper and used gansai tambi paints to fill the colours in which is much quicker that you think.  Particularly on the green one as I just added a few simple dots of red so that particular stamp would be great for quick mass production!   I die cut them with the matching dies and added them to co-ordinating cards with some strips or blocks of paper.  I'm all about speed when it comes to Christmas cards.  You get a gap in the tree and there are several greetings to choose from.

Here I used the new Festive Forest from Newton's Nook with just ink and red and gold embossing powder.  Super quick and fun and funky.  No masking, just layered stamping allowing the trees behind to show throw the more open designs.  It is such a fun set to play with, so many fun designs to play around with.

Finally whilst I had the sets out I used the co-ordinating dies to both sets to create a super quick card - a good way to use up little scraps of card from your snippets box too.  Some debossed stitched frames and a festive greeting and a card in under 5 minutes.

NEWS FROM THE STORE

Firstly I wanted to give a little info to our European customers regarding the Brexit process as there seems to be some confusion about what is going on and we are getting lots of questions from customers - particularly via Julia our resident European DT member, about where customers can now purchase items without paying duty.

Although back in June the country voted by a slim margin to leave the EU, nicknamed Brexit, THIS HAS NOT YET HAPPENED.  We do no leave the EU until we issue a document called Article 50 and hand that the European Union.  There is currently a huge debate about whether or not we can even actually do that, and whether the vote was consitutional or not.  Even when we do trigger that article, it will then take AT LEAST 2 YEARS for the process of separating from the union to take place.

Basically that means that for AT LEAST THE NEXT 2½ years, we will still be able to offer duty free posting to countries within the EU as we always have.  Only when the process of separation actually begins will we start to know whether or not duty will be payable once we leave - this is all part of the negotiation process our governments will enter into once the article is triggered.   We will keep you posted if and when that situation changes.

We are expecting some deliveries this week but it will be a quieter one:

  • Some restocks from MFT (sorry not the new snowflakes - we tried but they sold out in the USA in hours of release too)
  • The new release from Reverse Confetti is in transit
  •  We have restock orders in to Lawn Fawn and Avery Elle and hope they will ship soon.

Catch you next weekend

Tara

  1. Those Filled Trees are stunning, really beautiful designs. I love the one with pears in it! The Kraft backgrounds looks super on the other cards and set off the festive trees so nicely. I can see all of these making fab hanging ornaments for a real tree, too!

    1. We are not expecting anything from winnie and Walter this year. other items will come as and when available. Items do sell out regularly so you may never get everything you want in one go but our shipping on small items to the Eu is now only a pound more than in the UK so is very competitive
