Chocolate Free Easter Gift

Good morning all, hope you're having a productive crafty weekend.  I've got a simple little Easter gift to share today - with not a chocolate in sight!

This simple little bookmark is very easy to make using the Happy Hatchlings die from Lawn Fawn, and if you didn't want to give a bookmark you could make a slightly shorter version to turn into a tag to hang off a more traditional chocolate gift ;-)

To create the bookmark, I drew around one of the eggs 3 times on white card overlapping each slightly at jaunty angles to get my "stack".  I then die cut the 3 different eggs from patterned papers all with a hint of green to keep it on a spring theme.  The little chick was cut from sticky note card stock from lawn fawn and popped on top with his orange feet and beak cut from the same paper as the bottom egg to tie it all together.   Once glued onto the base layer I just trimmed around the whole thing with scissors to get a solid bookmark.

If you didn't want to got to the trouble of making a book mark - you could put a stack of dies in the same way direct onto a card to make a fun card instead and paired with a non-Easter sentiment they can be used all year round!   There are lots of fun possibilities with this die set.

  1. Love this, such a fun gift idea (and much healthier than chocs!) and looking really fab in those spring colours <3

  2. What a fun idea! We often buy our grandsons books for Easter instead of chocolate so this would be perfect for that too. Thanks for the update too.
