You Float My Boat Nautical Card

Hi everyone, Taheerah here wishing you a happy Thursday!

The Nautical theme is a perennial favourite in terms of trends. I've loved seeing the different takes on it over the years. The great thing about it is that it can work for any recipient!

When I saw the latest My Favorite Things release I was just smitten with the little sailing boats in the You Float My Boat stamp set. They're quirky and cute but not too kiddy and so they work for all manner of styles and ages!

I was excited to put that set to work and came up with the following card:

Fun, right?! That little boat just gets me!

I stamped my boat with a few different ink colour - the multiple stamps make it easy to build your own colour combos! I blended a little ink at the bottom of it to serve as the sea.

The Ocean View Porthole Die is a perfect accompaniment to this set - the boat fits right inside it! I die cut the porthole and used it to frame my boat. I stamped my sentiment and blended some ink over it to fit in with the sea theme, then freehand cut it into a banner shaped like a wave, then adhered it over the top of the scene. It's hard to tell from the photos but I also scored some lines into my card base to give the appearance of white wood boards that you might find on the inside of a ship. Love how this little scene came together!

I'd love to hear what you think of this card. Is there someone you know who'd love to receive it? Thanks for stopping by!
