Faux Embroidery

I've got a really simple make to share today, but I think it's an impressive result despite the simplicity used to create it, I give you faux embroidery.....

All I used here is one die - the phenomenal new Dotted Swirls from Altenew and a very sharp green pencil (I sharpened it repeatedly throughout the making of this card as its important to keep all the lines nice an thin and you need a very sharp point for that)

I simply ran a piece of kraft cardstock through the die cutting machine with the die and then "joined" the resulting dots the pattern creates as you would if you were stitching the pattern with thread just by drawing lines with my ultra sharp pencil.   It's a really therapeutic process once you get started!

I finished with a sentiment from the Rainbows set from Waffle Flower crafts on a strip of co-ordinating green cardstock with Versafine ink in Shady Lane.

NEWS FROM THE STORE

We'll have some new members joining the Design Team this week following Gemma's departure and filling the gap left by Jill a while ago now, so you'll no longer have to put up with me filling in!    So this will be the schedule from now on:
  • Jenny here as usual on Mondays with her amazing and often quirky takes on what to do with your stash;
  • Liz McGuire will be taking over from Gemma on Tuesdays.  Liz is a scrapbooker as well as a card maker so she'll be bringing lots of lovely new inspiration to the blog;
  • Tallie will continue to bring her astonishing colouring skills to the blog on Wednesdays;
  • Anna Szczepanska is our other newbie and she is moving into Taheerah's old Thursday slot.  Anna is another amazing colourist and will be bringing you lots of fun inspiration over the coming months;
  • Taheerah is then moving to Fridays every other week, sharing the slot with me and our new Found on Friday Feature.  Taheerah always has her finger on the fashion-pulse of this industry but also has a lot going on outside of crafting so sharing this slot makes it easier for her to still share her inspiration with us;
  • Anni will still be joining us on Saturdays form Germany and bringing her cute and clever makes;
  • and I (Tara) will be here as usual every Sunday with my crafting randomness (I really don't seem to have a style - I'm your odd-job girl) and will be brining you the news from store every week then too.
This week coming we will have the following new arrivals:
  • A brand new release of Lovely Legs from Colorado Craft Company - AND a BRAND NEW COLLECTION that doesn't feature legs at all but is just as stunning!   Check out the store on  3rd June
  • We'll have the brand new release from MFT but it might be a little delayed as we had issues ordering on their new website so it didn't ship as quickly as it usually does.   We'll get it in store as soon as we can.
  • Altenew have another new stamp and die release coming early June and we'll be ordering that along with their last stencil release this week so it should be with us shortly after release along with restocks on the pins fingers crossed.
And as its the start of the new month, all the other brands who release on a monthly release schedule will be sending us details so I'll be busy ordering (its a little like painting the Forth Bridge around here - you get to the end and then bang you have to go back to the beginning and start all over again!)

We do have some ongoing personal issues to deal with too which is taking up a lot of time, so we're trying hard to keep on top of things but sometimes there just aren't enough hours in the day to do it all.  Order packing is always given priority over adding stock and answering emails or doing other admin so bear with us if we're not as fast at dealing with things as usual.

Thanks

Tara
