Dog and Cat Paw Mini Cards Set

Hi everyone, Taheerah here wishing you a happy Friday!

I've always loved the shape of paw pads. They're so cute, especially when I imagine the balls of fur that created them!

It seems the folks at Newton's Nook love paws too as they created the awesome Pawprint Shaker Die set. With a large paw that can be turned into a shaker element, as well as an assortment of shaker 'filler' shapes to die cut too, it really makes for a fun design!

I actually had something else in mind to make with this cool set though - shaped mini cards!

Awesome, right?!

I started by folding a piece of cardstock in half and then die cut the solid paw to make a card base. This is a really easy technique to do - just have a small part of the die edge hang off the edge of the cardstock when you cut so that some of the fold is preserved and hey presto - shaped card!

I die-cut the shaker paw front from cream and grey cardstocks, then mixed and matched the paw pad colours with the paws! I adhered the main paw shape onto the front of the shaped card (this hides the fold and makes the shape 'complete), then adhered the paw pads in place using dimensional glue gel for a hint of dimension off the base.

I finished off by die cutting the 'woof' and 'meow' sentiments and adhering them with dimensional glue gel, making this a perfect mini card set for lovers of both dogs and cats!

Cats are way better though. *wink*

I'd love to hear what you think of this card set. Is there someone you know who'd love to receive it? Thanks for stopping by!
