Old School Decoupage

I'm changing things up today by mixing a brand new stamp with some old school decoupaging!

I stamped the brand new Ranunculus stamp from Wplus9 half a douzen times on some thin pink cardstock and set about fussy cutting a few layers - just start at the outer most petals and trim away and add more petals as you go so you are cutting your layers in reverse and then have a base layer with the whole flower.  I added a little shading with some pencils and layered them up with liquid glue so you have some wriggle time to get them in the right place.   Here's a close up that shows the layers a little better.   For more dimension you could get busy with a craft knife and shape the individual petals too.

I stamped the full image onto a kraft base card and coloured that with the same pencils - in retrospect I think I should have done the pink bud on card too, but maybe next time!

The hello sentiment is from the new painted sentiment set from Altenew - this is a brilliant set - so many super useful sentiments in a gorgeous font, I suspect it will be my new go-to set!

A few sequins finish off the card and add a little sparkle.

  • We've had deliveries this week from MFT, Lil' Inker Designs, Wplus9 and Altenew - you can find all the new goodies here or go to the brands page for restocks.
  • We are going to be stocking ALL the shades of ink from MFT in their premium dye pads.  They should be here in a week or so.
  • We'll have the new release from Mama Elephant as close to release day as possible (15th February)
  • Lawn Fawn and Avery Elle's mega CHA releases will be in store this month.  Lawn Fawn in around a week or so, Avery Elle towards the end of the month.

Happy Stamping - catch you on the flip side.

  1. Love the paper piecing! So happy that you're going to be stocking all of the MFT inks although it will mean that my New Year's resolution to spend less on craft supplies will go straight out of the window! xx

  2. Beautiful card! Love the gorgeous stamp and the lovely colours against the Kraft card. The decoupage looks fabulous! xxx
