Old School Decoupage

I'm changing things up today by mixing a brand new stamp with some old school decoupaging!

I stamped the brand new Ranunculus stamp from Wplus9 half a douzen times on some thin pink cardstock and set about fussy cutting a few layers - just start at the outer most petals and trim away and add more petals as you go so you are cutting your layers in reverse and then have a base layer with the whole flower.  I added a little shading with some pencils and layered them up with liquid glue so you have some wriggle time to get them in the right place.   Here's a close up that shows the layers a little better.   For more dimension you could get busy with a craft knife and shape the individual petals too.

I stamped the full image onto a kraft base card and coloured that with the same pencils - in retrospect I think I should have done the pink bud on card too, but maybe next time!

The hello sentiment is from the new painted sentiment set from Altenew - this is a brilliant set - so many super useful sentiments in a gorgeous font, I suspect it will be my new go-to set!

A few sequins finish off the card and add a little sparkle.
