Dream Big!

Hey stampers, Anni here!

I am addicted to Distress Oxides lately! I loved them from the start but recently I use them again and again.

For this card I created the background using Distress Oxides. I started by die cutting two scalloped rectangle using Mama Elephant's All Prettied Up. One I used as the panel and from the other I die cut clouds from using Mama Elephant's Landscape Trio. For variation I also die cut some cloud borders with Lawn Fawn's Cloudy Hillside Pop-Up Add On.

I used different shades of green Oxide ink ( Pine Needles, Evergreen Bough, Lucky Clover and Cracked Pistacchio) and tried to achieve an ombré effect. To add a little bit of interest I also splashed some water droplets on the paper but also stamped some little stars using the same inks I used for the ink blending.

For the images on my card I chose different sets by Mama Elephant: The dragon and the tiny girl come from Me and My Dragon, the birthday cake I found in Dragon Wishes, the Balloon and the sentiment is from the set Space Bears. I stamped, coloured with alcohol markers and fussy cut all the images.
Then I assembled the card.

Thanks for stopping by and have a crafty weekend.

Wishing You a Happy Birthday

Hey stameprs, Anni here!

Today I have a elephant birthday card for you.

I don't know about you but winter is the time of the year when I have the feeling my mojo is on vacation. I ask myself where it could be and imagine it somewhere on a sunny beach - far, far away from my crafting area.
In these times I turn to challenges to give me some inspiration. The inspiration for this card came from the Lawn Fawn challenge blog. For the current challenge there is a inspiration board you have to follow: a lot of reds, pinks, greys, glitter and hearts.
So Istarted by creating a background with ink blending with red and pink ink. I sprinkled some water droplets on it to achieve these bleached posts. While the background dried I stamped elephants and mice from Lawn Fawn's Wild For You and Elphie Selfie. I coloured the images with alcohol markers, added some details with coloured pencils and fussy cut them.
I die cut the polaroid from Lawn Fawn's Selfie Frames twice from white cardstock and glued vellum behind it. I arranged the elephants and a mouse in the frames and added three hearts. These hearts I die cut from red glitter cardstock with Heart dies by Lawn Fawn.

For the sentiment I chose the set Happy Happy Happy by Lawn Fawn again.I heat embossed the sentiment in white on dark grey cardstock and cut it into stripes.
To die cut the background I used Mama Elephant's All Prettied Up. After that all that was left to do was to assemble the card.

Thanks for stopping by and have a crafty weekend.

Party Animals

Hello stampers, Anni here!

After I didn't feel like colouring last week it came back with a boom!
So for this week's card I created it my own colouring page! I inked up this super cute set called Party Animals by Mama Elephant.

I started by die cutting a scalloped rectangle from Mama Elephant's All Prettied Up die set. Then I did a lot of stamping and a lot of masking!
I coloured all the images and the background with alcohol markers. The scalloped edge of the rectangle I masked of with washi tape to keep a white frame around my image.

The sentiment I found in another Mama Elephant set called Monster Jam. I embossed it in white on a stripe of black cardstock and cut it into a banner shape.

Thanks for stopping by and have a crafty weekend.

Touchy-Felty

Hi crafters! Today I’m getting touchy-felty with you! I have never before used felt on my projects, mainly because it was so hard to find a good felt for die-cutting. A good felt is one that can be easily cut, retains that shape, and doesn’t go all fussy on me after handling it. Seven Hills Crafts in the UK are now stocking felt that is perfect and I’ll show you today just how intricate you can go with it.

Because I had to know for myself what I could put this felt through, I grabbed a pretty intricate die set from My Favorite Things – as you can see the petals of those Gerberas are pretty thin and I wondered if the felt could handle that. In a rare occasion of foresight I even added some double-sided adhesive to the felt before die-cutting it so it would be easier to adhere one layer on top of the others later. It cuts like butter (I did it on my Grand Calibur), and you can remove it easily from the die itself. Through the pressure in the die-cutting machine, the adhesive really sticks to the felt so it’s easy to adhere it to another surface.

For some finishing touches, I added some silver beads to the center of my flower using Glossy accents, and then added sparkly dots with my Stardust Gel pen on top of the felt! Worked like a charm! The sentiment is from Paper Smooches – they have some fantastic sentiment sets which are perfect for all occasions.

Thank you for stopping by today! I hope you got inspired!

Summer Floral Shaker

Hi there and a very happy Thursday!

Today I thought I bit of bright florals were in order ... with some added sparkle.

I grabbed MFT 'Pretty Posies' and set to work...

I started by drawing a circle onto a white card layer with a pencil so it could be rubbed out later, this circle will act as a guide for both stamping the images and partial die-cutting the circle. I then stamped my flowers and leaves into place using some lovely bright inks with a bold black outline. I stamped the outlines slightly off to give a more fresh and funky vibe.

Once the stamping was done I took the scallop circle from Mama Elephant 'All Prettied Up' die set and added this over the pencil guide I drew in before. I didn't want to cut through the flowers so I left these poking out from my plates when I die cut the circle- this way there is no pressure on them when they go through the machine so won't cut.

Once cut I added the piece on top on my card base without adhering it so I could stamp my sentiment, using Mama Elephant 'Everyday Greetings', through the die-cut circle into place.

I then added foam tape to the back of my card layer and added some clear sequins over my sentiment before adhering the card layer down.

Thank you so much for stopping by and I'll see you again next week!
