At Home with the Monkeys

My card today features some Little Agenda stamps from Mama Elephant. I thought it would be fun to create a wallpaper background for my Little Agenda frames to hang on.

I began by stamping the leaf images from MFT Brushstroke Blooms all over my card base, using Altenew Forest Glades ink cube. 

Next, I cut a piece of green Lawn Fawn Knit Picky Fall paper and adhered that on to one side of my card base. 

To bridge the gap between the two prints, I cut a thin strip of green card and adhered it between them.

Next, I stamped three of the square frame, from the Little Agenda Frames stamp set, onto white card. I masked the edges and stamped some of the Little Monkey Agenda within the frames. You could use any of the fabulous Little Agenda stamp sets - there’s so much choice.

I coloured the images in with my alcohol markers, then die cut them with the coordinating dies.

I added the hanging pieces to the card with liquid glue, then the frames with foam squares. To finish, I added a small sentiment from the Little Agenda Frames stamp set.

I love the 'Wallace and Gromit' look of this card, with the contrasting wallpaper and fun photo frames.

80th Agenda

I needed an 80th birthday card this weekend but wasn't sure what to make so I had a browse around instagram and was inspired by a cute 10th birthday card on @thetinybluebutterfly's feed and created a card featuring lots of little agenda characters celebrating the big birthday.

I selected some of the "party related" characters from the following little agenda sets from Mama Elephant:

Monkey
Bunny
Dogs
Cats

I decided to keep all the animals in shades of grey to keep a coherent design and just used pink, yellow and green for all the accents.

The 80 itself came courtesy of Concord and 9th's Notable Numbers Die cut from glitter paper from their summer glitter pack which I used to edge the strip of navy card I mounted the scene on.

Quick and easy card and there are so many characters in the range you can get them doing all sorts of things to match your needs.

 NEWS FROM THE STORE

• Just a reminder than we are "closing" shipping at 3pm on Friday.   The store will remain open over Christmas but we are taking a break so orders placed after 3pm on Friday will not be processed until we start work again on the 2nd January.   We will not be blogging, answering emails or Facebook questions either during that time as we need a proper break so thank you in advance for your patience.

• MFT card kit stamps and dies - from this month onwards MFT are allowing us to have the stamps and dies from the card kits AT THE SAME TIME as they release the kits rather than making us wait 3 months as they did before.  WE CANNOT GET THE WHOLE KIT - if you want that, as always you have to go direct as the kits are exclusive to MFT Stamps.

• Hero Arts November Kit Add-ons will be here this week.  Again, we can't get the kits themselves they are exclusive to Hero Arts.

• AlteNew - the new stamps, dies, pens and embellishments are hopefully arriving by Tuesday.

Little Monkey Agenda

Don't we all love the cute stamps in the Little Agenda series by Mama Elephant? On today's cards I used the Little Monkey Agenda.

There are A LOT of stamps in these sets but they are quite tiny. Sometimes I struggle to put them to good usebecause of their seize. That's where Lawn Fawn's Mini Picture Frames come in handy. They are perfect to give the cute monkeys a stage without stealing the show.

I started by stamping the monkeys, colouring them with alcohol markers and fussy cut them (there are coordinating dies available, too). They are fast and easy to colour because of their size.

Then I die cut three square frames for the one card and three circle frames for the other card using the  Mini Picture Frames dies. I used the same cardstock as for the card base for the die cuts to keep it sublte and the momkeys the stars of the show - or the card.

Before I glued everything down I stamped the sentiments on the card base. For this I used Mama Elephant's Wishful Taggins. There are a lot of Christmas Sentiments in this set but also some sentments you can use all year round.

To assemble the cards I adhered the frames and the monkeys using dimensional adhesive.
