Happy Birthday Wishes

Hope you all have a fun and relaxing weekend with a lot of time for crafting.
I can't seem to stay away from my ZIG Clean Color Real Brush pens lately. So I made another card using them and a set with lovely flower stamps from Altenew called Best Mom.

I started by stamping the flowers with an embossing ink and embossed it with white embossing powder on watercolor paper. Then I colored the image with my ZIG Clean Color Real Brush pens. These pens are really easy to use but of course you could color with whatever watercolor medium you have on hand. I used two or three different shades of pinks and reds for the flowers and kep the leaves simple and subtle. I fussy cut the image by hand.

For the sentiment I needed something not too eyecatching but something to add a little bit of intrest. I went with this beautiful word die by W Plus 9 called Happy Wishes Word Die. To match the flowers I added a little bit of the same color but with much more water to keep it light. For a little bit of contrast I embossed a small Birthday on dark grey cardstock.

To finish the card I added some sequins and tiny pearls.

Pencils On Kraft

Hi there everyone and happy Thursday! Lydia here with you today.

I have been playing with kraft card today, I just look the soft, rustic look that it gives.

To mix things up a little I stamped my images in white pigment ink, this is a great alternative to back ink and it works so well on kraft card. The image I used is from Altenew 'Best Mom' and I stamped this twice going down my card blank.

I coloured my images using coloured pencils, I find that coloured pencils give a gorgeous vibrant look on the kraft card.

For the sentiment I used the coordinating die set for Altenew 'Majestic Bloom' . I die cut the sentiment and added it on top of some vellum to make it stand out more.

Fabulous Floral Frame

Hi there everyone! Lydia here with you today and I'm so glad you popped by.

Today I have a card using the new Altenew 'Best Mom' and I wanted to show that this one isn't just for Mother's Day, it can be used all year round. Not only does it have the most beautiful sprig of flowers but this set also has the word 'Mum' on it! Yay!

How beautiful are those flowers?!?! And I only used part of the sprig for this!

I started by drawing a circle in light pencil in the middle of my card layer- this is just for a guide and will be erased after stamping. I then inked up my stamp using a light grey ink, but I didn't ink up the bottom large flower or the leaves and stem below it.

Once inked up I stamped the image on the left side of the guide circle, inked up the stamp in the same way again and then stamped on the other side of the guide circle to create a kind of frame shape. I then erased the pencil guide.

I coloured the image quickly with Copics, just to get the flowers and leaves covered before then adding more depth and detail with coloured pencils. I just love how those flowers look.

The sentiment is from the same set , and there are also some quite funny one's on there too.
