To The Birthday Girl

Hello, it's Liz here today. When I was little (I'm going to show my age now) I loved playing with those paper dress up dolls. The outfits had little foldover tags to attach them to the cardboard doll, hours of fun! Well this stamp set reminded me of those dolls. It's the Fashion Wear Stamp Set by Concord & 9th. You get two basic face stamps and then you can stamp different hairstyles and accessories. This means you can personalise for the recipient. There's loads of sentiments too!

For my card I used the largest die from the Wonky Stitches set by Avery Elle to cut a piece of watercolour card. I then stamped my girls using Versafine as I used watercolours to colour. The background patterned paper is from the Vintage Botanicals paper pad.

Thanks for stopping by today, happy crafting!

Gnomes with a secret

Hello, it's Liz here today. How cute are these two? I wonder what secret they are sharing! They are from Stamping Bella and the set is called Gnomes with a secret, the matching die is here. The fairy garden sign is also Stamping Bella and the matching die for that one is here.

I love stamps that have bigger areas to colour as you can achieve a real watercolour look. The watercolours I used are by Altenew and remember you will need to stamp on watercolour paper/card for best results.

The background paper is from my Simple Vintage Botanicals pad by Simple Stories and has been die cut using the Wonky Stitches die.

Thanks for stopping by today, happy crafting!

Birthday Gnome

Hi everyone, it's Tallie here. I'm excited to join the team and am starting off with a Birthday Gnome to brighten up your Wednesday!

I love these cute little gnomes from the MFT You Gnome Me set - I think it's the ears! I stamped this little guy out using some MFT Black Licorice Hybrid Ink and coloured him in using my alcohol markers. I wanted to avoid a Christmassy vibe so I chose some teal colours to partner the reds. I then cut him out with the coordinating dies.

I needed a bold background for him to stand against so I chose the MFT Spotlight Sentiments set. I stamped it repeatedly on a white card panel in a gradient pattern using the Merman, Peacock, Tea Dye and Walnut inks from the Lawn Fawn Gazebo, Candy Store and Tea Party Ink Cubes. Once dry, I die cut it using the largest frame from the Wonky Stitches Elle-ments dies and adhered some teal ribbon from my stash to break up the border between the brown and teals.

With a little bit of foam tape on the back of the little gnome I popped him up on the front panel, which I then adhered to an A2 side folding kraft card base. I felt like it needed a little something else so I stamped an additional sentiment from the MFT Things With Wings stamp set, coloured with the same red alcohol markers and made into a banner. That and a few clear sequins finishes it off nicely, I think.

Thanks for reading, see you next week.
