Summer Goodie Bags

You may have already noticed that Anna and I swapped post days. She covered last Saturday for me. But after today we will be back to our regular schedule.

From time to time I meet with some crafty friends and often we exchange little gifts. Of course (as crafters) the gift box is usually more intresting than the gift itself (most of the time some sweets or chocolate).

For our last get together I made these boxes using Lawn Fawn's Goodie Bag die.

I die cut all the pieces I needed for four goodie bags at once from white cardstock. As I wanted to create a beach scene I added some ink blending in turquoise for the sky and some beige for the beach. I added a lot of splatters of water and white and dark brown ink.

To decorate the gift boxes I stamped a lot of Mama Elephant's Beach Chickies in a very light ink. I coloured the chicks with coloured pencils in the no line technique. There are coordinating dies available.

When I put the images on the goodie bags the background was way to dominant. To tone it down I wanted to add a circle of vellum. My Favorite Things' Jumbo Peek-a-Boo Circle Window had just the rightsize.

And finally for the sentiment I went with one of my go to sentiment sets: Mama Elephant's Mini Messages.

         

Gift Boxes for Crafty Friends

A few month ago we had a big get together of german cardmaker. We met at a former monastery, which is now a hostel! You can't imagine how much fun we had.
And of course there was a exchange of small gifts in handcrafted bags od gift boxes. Today I want to show you the ones I gave away.

I started by die cutting Lawn Fawn's Goodie Bag 60 times (well, actually it wasn't me, I had help from my sweet heart) for 30 goodie bags. You need two parts for one bag.
I applied some white pigment ink through Newton Nook's Cloudy Sky Stencil before I assembled the bags.

For the decoration and as a little gift I created book marks. For that I stamped images from two Mama Elephant sets called Party Animals and Lil'Painters, coloured them with alcohol markers and fussy cut all of them.

I added sentiments from Altenew's Crafty Life and Crafty Friends. To the book mark I added a magnet to hold it on place.

Lunar Animals Gift Boxes

I am very excited because today I get crafty guests! We will have so much fun colouring, stamping, die cutting and chatting away!
For a little present for the guests I created these two boxes.

I am really in love with all kind of gift box dies but this one called Goodie Bag by Lawn Fawn is one of my favorites - it is so cute! I die cut it twice from patterned paper.

To decorate the boxes I stamped a few animals of  Mama Elephant's Lunar Animals. I coloured the critters with alcohol markers and added some highlights with a white gel pen.

For the sentiments I chose a few of the tiny speech bubbles of the set Small Talk by Mama Elephant. There are so many sentiments in this set - for every occassion and they are super sweet with these small speech bubbles.

To decorate the boxes even more I added a die cut border to each of them. It is from a set called Valentine Border by Lawn Fawn.

I hope my guests will like their little gifts.

Happy New Home!

A friend of mine moved a few weeks ago and I needed a little gift for the house warming party. Avery Elle's Happy Home die was perfect for that occassion.
I created a little gift box and a small gift tag.

For the gift box I used the Goodie Bag die by Lawn Fawn as a basis. I die cut all the pieces of the house from different cardstocks.
To create a more realistic look of a brick wall I used a stencil I got from a friend. My friend made the stencil with her craft plotter but you can create that kind of stencil with this die for example.
For the curtains I used some patterned paper to bring in a little bit of color.
On a little banner I added the sentiment. For that I combined sentiments from two sets - you have to be inventive if you don't have the sentiment in your stash that you need, don't you?
On the inside of the bag I adhered a little magnet to make it closeable.

For the tag I used the Pierced Traditional Tags Dies. I die cut again the pieces for the house and went for the same cardsock as for the box to make them match. I finished up the tag by adding some twine.
