A Birthday Card and a Very Special Voucher

Hey stampers, Anni here!

A colleague asked me to make a birthday card for his daughter! She had a very special wish: She wanted a voucher for a dental prophylaxis. So I had to make a card for this special request.

Fortunately I found a little tooth in Mama Elephant’s Little Fairy Agenda set. That gave me the idea that one of Mama Elephant’s Three Amigos could show this tooth on his sign. I started by stamping the raccoon and the cat from the set in a very light ink because I wanted to do some no line colouring. The Happy Birthday I stamped in black on the other sign.

To get more of a birthday feeling I also stamped some balloons from Mama Elephant's The Birthday Bash and a cupcake from Mama Elephant’s Carnival Cupcakes. I coloured the images by pressing Distress Ink pads onto a acryl block and watercolouring with this colour palette.
For all of these sets you can find coordinating dies in the shop.

For the background I took a piece of white cardstock and added a little bit of very soft ink blending through Newton’s Nook’s Bokeh Stencil Set
To give this scene a frame I die cut Mama Elephant’s Framed Tags Madison Avenue and adhered it with dimensional adhesive. That finished up my card.

Thanks for stopping by and have a crafty weekend.

Three Amigos

Hey stampers, Anni here!

One of my all time favorite stamp sets is Mama Elephant's Three Amigos. It was one of my first Mama Elephant Sets and I still love it so much.

For today's card I combined the super cute racoon from this set with a sentiment die by My Favorite Things called Birthday Wishes. This is a very delicate die and it was not so easy to stack up. But when I added a layer of Stick It! Adhesive to the back of my cardstock before die cutting it worked out fine.

I stamped and coloured the racoon with alcohol markers. And because I already had decided to go with the die cut sentiment I stamped a little heart on the signs instead of one of the sentiments in the set.

To create the background I added some ink blending through Altenew's Feeling Dotty stencil. The background turned out a little bit busy so I added another layer of ink blending without the stencil.
From the background I created I die cut one of Lil'Inker Designs' Stitched Mats: Rounded Rectangles.

All there was left to do was to assemble the card.

I love this set because the critters work for both, male and female and it gives you a big variety of sentiments. Do you habe a stamp set in you stash that you had for a long time and still love very much?

Thanks for stopping by and have a crafty weekend.

Foxy Grad!!

Good Morning, Jenny here.... don't panic, it's not Monday!! Tara has a busy weekend so we have swapped blog days this week.... you'll be able to catch up with her tomorrow with a project and the usual store round-up :)

In the meantime I have a New Grad card to show you.... it's coming round to that time of year when results are known and Mortar boards are thrown... hey I'm a poet!! Lol

I pulled out Concord & 9th's Above Average stamp set and paired it with the fox from Mama Elephant's Three Amigos...

I love the big handwritten font and it makes quite a good focal point on its own but I thought the little fox could be the new Grad and share his news with you. I used lined paper from a MFT paper pad and adhered it to the card base at a jaunty angle then stamped out the sentiment with bright colours of pigment inks.

The little fox is stamped, coloured and trimmed out using scissors along with a mortar board from Avery Elle's Hats off stamp set. I used a Lawn fawn alphabet to add text to his paper and scattered a few coloured pencils at his feet. I felt the blue frame was needed to add an extra pop of bright colour and help ground the little fox in the design.... I wonder what he has a degree in???

Thanks for stopping by, Tara is here tomorrow and I'll be back next Monday :)

Clean colour cuteness to say 'Thank you, Amigo'!

Hi everybody,

Jill here, and this week, I've got a cute 'Thank You' card coloured with Zig Clean Colour Pens...

...using Mama Elephant's Three Amigo's and Sunday Sentiments.

I made this card for my best friend, and favourite amigo, to say a massive 'Thank you' for doing something extraordinarily kind for me.  I love how this crafty hobby means you can create something to say exactly what you want to, the absolute personal touch that hopefully let's the recipient know how truly special they are to you!
I melded two of the Sunday Sentiments together to make my sentiment just right.

I started by stamping out my cute little kitty form the Three Amigo's set, and masking off.  I then took the 'thank you' sentiment from Sunday Sentiments, only inking it to where the words finished, then took the 'hello friend' sentiment from the same set, and selectively inked that line up also to complete my sentiment.
I used masking fluid to mask off the bottom half of my panel and my wee amigo so I could get a really nice wet wash, using my Zig Clean Colour Pens, for my background without it bleeding where I didn't want it too.  I added a few flicks and splashes across my background before removing the masking fluid.

I then coloured my kitty and beneath my sentiment line, and stamped my message onto my sign.
Once everything was dry, I embellished with a scattering of pretty sequins, matted onto a card blank, and there you have it.

I really hope you like it, and just wanna say, Thank you so much Lynne...this one's for you :)

See you all next week.

Jillx
