Embossing with Upon a Star

Today I’m sharing a card using the Lawn Fawn Upon a Star stamps and dies.

On the card base, I used embossing - both regular stamp embossing and dry embossing with the dies. After heat embossing the stamped constellations in white, I then ran the card base through my die cutting machine with the coordinating dies in place, but using an embossing mat. Instead of cutting out the shapes, it leaves the indented shapes of the dies around the regular embossing, giving lots of interest and texture.

For the scene, I cut a strip of white card stock and heat embossed some more constellations with white embossing powder. I also embossed a sentiment from the Lawn Fawn Upon a Star set towards the bottom edge of the panel.

I then blended some distress oxide inks to create sky and grass areas. Where the two areas meet, I adhered a die cut Lawn Fawn Village Border. I love to add yellow card behind the windows for the glow of lights.

Finally I added two die cut foxes from the same set with foam squares, watching the stars.

Thanks for joining me today,
Gemma
