Altenew butterflies and watercolour for Mothers' Day

Hi everyone, it's Esther here with a card for Mothers' Day featuring Altenew butterflies and watercolouring.

I stamped and heat embossed in gold the large butterfly from Altenew Wild Hibiscus stamp set, then lightly watercoloured the butterflies in pale pink with darker pink highlights on their wings using Zig Clean Colour Real Brush Pens. The background used a pale blue Zig pen.

I stamped "You Are" from My Favorite Things Count the Stars stamp set and heat embossed it in white on grey card, cutting it to size with a sentiment die from My Favorite Things Blueprints 29 and adding a banner edge by hand with scissors.

The "wonderful" is from Concord and 9th Wonderful Word Dies, layered up twice in white card and once on top in grey card.

I cut the panel to size using My Favorite Things Blueprints 29 and adhered it all together onto a top folding card base.

Thanks for stopping by!

Two ways with Avery Elle Burst Elle-ments and florals

Hi everyone, it's Esther with two cards showing the Avery Elle Burst Elle-ments die. I love how it frames a card and gives stability to more unstructured stamping such as florals that you can team with it. This is a die I'll be using a lot.

I made up the first card with the new Hero Arts Color Layering Fuschia, only for it to go out of stock a day later! I'm not surprised it's been so popular, as it's completely gorgeous. (You can sign up to have an email alert as soon as it's back in.) So I added a second card using Altenew Wild Hibiscus, also gorgeous, which we still have available - just. Be quick if you want one!

Here's the Fuschia card, cut with the matching dies.

And here's the Wild Hibiscus card with an ink smooshed background and the flowers cut with the matching diesThe sentiment is from the same set. The flowers are watercoloured with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens

Hope you like the cards! See you next week :)

Vibrant Watercolour Florals

Hi there everyone and happy Thursday.

It's Lydia here and I have a bright watercolour card to share with you today.

I started by stamping the flower cluster in the corner using images from Altenew 'Wild Hibicus'- I stamped the images in a waterproof ink so I could watercolour the images using Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens. I love the vibrant watercolour looks you can get using these pens.

Once the watercolour was dry I stamped the sentiment using Altenew 'Halftone Thanks'- this is such a different look and a statement sentiment with that ombre look!

Thanks so much for stopping by and I'll see you again soon!

Hugs, Lydia xxx

No-Line Watercolour Flowers

Hi there and happy Thursday!

Today I have a really pretty card using Altenew 'Wild Hibiscus' and some no-line watercolouring. I love the end effect as it makes the image look completely different from the stamped image.

Firstly I stamped three of the flower and leave images down the right hand edge of a piece of watercolour card using a dark pink distress ink for the flowers and a dark blue for the leaves. I started on the flowers- I covered the petals with clean fresh water, this will soften the stamped lines and start the blending. I then dropped in the pink ink toward the base of the flower, this will blend out on it's own because of the water already added to the petals. For a little added depth I added in some of the dark blue where I thought the shadows would be deepest. For the centre of the flowers I waited until it was dry then added in some black and blue distress ink.

I did the leaves in the same way but first softening the lines using clean clear water, then dropping in the same blue ink to the base of the leaf. To add in some darker shadows I used the black distress ink.

To finish the card I added a sentiment from the same set, some black thread, clear sequins and some washi tape down the right edge on the card blank.

Thank you so much for stopping by, I really hope you liked my card.

Hugs Lydia x
