We Herd it is Your Birthday

Hey stampers, Anni here!

Sometimes I see a stamp set and fall immediately in love! That happened to me when I saw Waffle Flower's super cute We Herd stamp set. I knew of a friend that she is a big sheep friend. But when another crafty friend mentioned that she loves sheeps aswell I knew I hadto buy the stamp set.
It was the birthday of this crafty friend  and of course I used the stamp set to make a card for her.

I started by stamping the sheeps onto alcohool marker friendly paper with black ink. During the colouring progress I made some mistakes - I chose different shades of grey (warm and cold). That didn't turned out as I wanted to. Lucky for me that happened to the sheeps in the second row. I fussy cut the sheeps that I liked, stamped the sheeps a second time and coloured them in a colour sccheme I liked more. For the whole group of sheeps there are coodinating dies available, of course.

For the background I added a very soft inkblending to a piece of white cardstock. Then I applied another layer of ink, this time through a stencil called Birthday Confetti by Echo Park.
For the sentiment I stamped one of Mama Elephant's Birthday Messages on a stripe of grey cardstock and heat embossed it in white.

To finish up the card I added the biggest of Avery Elle's Wonky Scalloped Frames to my card and adhered the whole scene to a light grey card base.

Thanks for stopping by and have a crafty weekend.

Welcome Little One

Hey stampers, Anni here!

A friend of mine got a baby girl last week and I wanted to make a card for her. I LOVE to make baby cards, in fact Christmas cards and baby cards are my favorite to make. Of all cards I like creating cards for teenage boys and of course sympathy cards least.

I started by stamping the cutte little fox with an umbrella from Mama Elephant's Up an Away with My Favorite Things' Extreme Black Hybrid ink. I chose this ink because I wanted to colour with alcohol marker. Then I fussy cut the image (there are coordinating dies available).

When I make baby cards I like to personalize them and put a name on them. The little girl is called Nika. So I stamoed the letters using Lawn Fawn's Quinn's Abcs. I coloured them in the same colours I used for my focal image.

For the background I did some ink blending over My Favorite Things' Cloud stencil. I used inks matching the colours of the fox and the letters but in a much lighter shade. This way the image and the letters would not get lost on the background.

I die cut Avery Elle's Wonky Scalloped Frames dies from the background and a second time from white cardstock. I combined the white frame with the cloudy inside rectangle.

To go with the name of the baby I inked up a part of a sentiment I found in Avery Elle's Storybook. Actually the sentiment says Welcome Little One bt I wanted to say Welcome Little Nika.
Then I assembled the card.

So what about you? Do you have favourite occasions to make cards for? Let me know!

Thanks for stopping by and have a crafty weekend.

Christmas in August

Hey stampers,Anni here.

Have you realized Christmas stamps are peeking around the corners. I LOVE to make Christmas catds - I know, I am weird. In the last years I challenged myself to create two Christmas cards per month but this year I haven't made one till now. When I saw all these cute new Christmas stamps popping up I got in the mood to create one.

I started by creating the background: I used some alcohol inks and some blending solution on Ranger's Yupo paper.

Then I went through my stash of Christmas stamps and found Neat and Tangled's Santa's Wonderland - such a cute set. I stamped, coloured and fussy cut the penguin, the rendeer and the snow man.
For the colouring I chose a turqoise that went with my background and added some red for a warm colour and a grey as a neutral.

The snow drift I die cut with a die called Landscape Trio by Mama Elephant from white cardstock. I stamped a sentiment from Lawn Fawn's Tiny Tag Sayings with black ink on one of the two snow drifts die cut.

To give the image a frame I also die cut Avery Elle's Wonky Scalloped Frames from white cardstock three times and stacked them up.
Then I assembled the card.

Thanks for stopping by and have a crafty weekend. Maybe you'll start making Christmas cards?
