Bunny Antics

Hello, all, Tallie here. Spring is definitely in the air and it's getting close to Easter so my card today is inspired by some cute little bunnies from the Lawn Fawn Some Bunny stamp set. It's not quite the right time of year here to be harvesting carrots, but that doesn't stop these little guys!

I started out by stamping out the bunnies, carrots, watering can and the flower bed in some MFT Extreme Black Ink onto some blending cardstock. I had to stamp the carrot multiple times and I also used the tree stump from the Lawn Fawn Mom & Me set. I used my alcohol markers to colour in the images, cutting them out with the coordinating dies.

On two separate panels, I blended on some Distress Inks in Mowed Lawn/Twisted Citron and Mermaid Lagoon/Broken China. These are my two favourite scene combinations! I cut the both panels with the largest Lawn Fawn Fancy Scalloped Circle Stackable die and then cut the green one twice with the Lawn Fawn Grassy Border die to give me a stackable scene. I used some foam tape to layer up some of the pieces to give some dimension.

I used probably my most favourite sentiment combination - the 'Just a Little Note to Say...' and 'Hope you have an Awesome Day!" - from the Lawn Fawn Critter Concert set. This sentiment is perfect for a variety of occasions so the cards can be multi-purpose. I stamped the beginning onto a banner cut using a Lawn Fawn Everyday Sentiment Banner die and the end on the inside of the card. I also added the hopping bunny and another carrot to the inside for some extra fun!

It's been good to get back into making some scene cards lately, even if it takes a few more supplies!

Thanks for reading, have a great week.

A Family of Dragons

Hello, Tallie here.

My card today is inspired by those fun-loving dragons from a rocky town called Berk! I love these cute little dragons from the Mama Elephant sets Me and My Dragon and Dragon Wishes.

I stamped this family of dragons out with some MFT Extreme Black Ink onto some blending cardstock. I actually only used 8 markers from the cool greys - probably the least amount of markers I have used in a while! Some dot detail helped to add some texture details for scales.  There are coordinating dies available.

For the background scene, I coloured three panels with Distress Inks. I used Mowed Lawn and Twisted Citron for the grass, Rusty Hinge and Walnut Stain for the hills and Broken China and Mermaid Lagoon for the sky. I wasn't too smooth with my blending as it helps to give texture to the scene. I used two different dies to cut out the panels - Lawn Fawn Grassy Border and Mama Elephant Kingdom Trio. I stacked these onto a white top-folding A6 card panel.

I stamped out the 'Happy Birthday' sentiment from the MFT Essential Sentiments onto the front grassy panel before popping up the dragons on some foam tape. I arranged the scene so Mum and Dad are in the air with the kiddies scattered around.

A few sequins in the sky and some gel pen detail to the dragons finished off this card!

Thanks for reading, catch you next week.

Enjoy the small moments

Hi everybody,

Jill here, and this week, I'm enjoying the simple things in life...

...using Avery Elle's Furry Friends.

My favourite thing in this universe is my gorgeous little doggy, Indiana (Indy to his pals).  Nothing brings me more joy than watching him frolic around, tail wagging having the time of his life on a beautiful summer's evening...and nothing brings Indy more joy than his ball!  He is obsessed!  So I decided to celebrate these small moments and the joy they bring with this week's card.

I started by stamping out and colouring, in the likeness of Indy, this cute little chap, from Avery Elle's Furry Friends, and his little ball (which is also coloured to match Indy's favourite ball).  I then cut a few strips of Lawn Fawn's Grassy Border for him to be sitting amongst.  I covered my front panel in some of the smaller stamps from the Furry Friends and cut a heart aperture from that.
My sentiment is from Mama Elephant's Everyday Greetings and is stamped and heat embossed onto vellum, adhered in place with a small amount of glue strategically placed!
I edged my card and my aperture with ink to help the scene 'pop'.

It's in these simple chilled out, laid back times I find myself to be my truest, happiest self; so never forget, 'Enjoy the small moments'.

Resisting Christmas is futile!

Hi everybody,

Jill here, and this week I'm sending Merry Christmas wishes via a pretty winter sky using the emboss resist technique...

...and Mama Elephant's 'Merry Christmas Wishes'.

There's nothing I love more than a huge, massive sentiment stamp; and there's nothing more I love to do with a huge, massive sentiment stamp than emboss it and cover it in a beautiful, pretty, inky watercolour wash!  So I couldn't wait to get my hands on this stamp and do just that!
My idea was to create a little winter scene using Lawn Fawn's Little Town and Grassy border dies, then have the sentiment stamped into a lovely wintry sky.

I started by cutting a panel from a piece of watercolour card, then cutting the Little Town and Grassy Borders from it.  I took the top piece and stamped this gorgeous 'Merry Christmas' from Merry Christmas Wishes  onto it, and clear heat embossed.  I then added a few little stars from Mama Elephant's Rock and Paws around the sentiment to add interest to the sky, clear heat embossing those also.  I then went to town with a wash of pinks, purples, and blues to create that dreamy romantic winter sky ideal.

I washed my grassy piece in greens and kept my little town white, adding a piece of card behind, that had been washed in yellow to create little lights glowing out across the winter evening.  I then in-laid all my pieces back together.
I added scattering of coordinating sequins to add a little sparkle, matted my panel onto a piece of navy blue cardstock, then mounted the whole thing onto a white card blank.

I really hope you like it, as always, everything I used is linked below.

See you next week.

A Cheery Birthday Chat.

Hi everybody,

Jill here, and this week I've got a little cheerful birthday chat going on...

Using Wplus9's 'Going Places' set as my main feature.

I adore this set, the little characters are just so unbelievably sweet.  The set comes with a hot air balloon, and the sweet critters can sit inside the basket, but I wanted to put them in a different scenario to show how versatile they can be.  I always think, when they're alongside each other, they look like they're having a little natter, so decided to build a little birthday gathering.

I started by stamping out all the images I wanted to use, colouring them using my Copics, and cutting them out using the matching dies.  I don't always get matching dies as I'd rather spend my money on stamps, (more and more yummy stamps haha), but these ones are well worth getting as they cut the little arms out so you can have them peeking over things.  Just so cute.
I then took a piece of white card, cut it into a panel using Lawn Fawn's Stitched Rectangle's, then cut it into several sections using Mama Elephant's Landscape Trio Dies, Lawn Fawn's Speech Bubble die, and Lawn Fawn's Grassy Border die.  I then inked blended onto my pieces to colour them accordingly, and pieced them back together.  I also cut Mama Elephant's Picket Fence, and another slither of Lawn Fawns Grassy Border to add to the front.  I positioned my little gang in place onto my second Grassy Border, then attached to the front of my card using foam tape for dimension.

I cut a second piece of white card into a speech bubble, then die cut Lawn Fawn's 'Cheers' die from it, using the negative space as my sentiment and adding some black card behind to make it 'pop', and adhered this piece using more foam tape.  I added a couple of little balloons, tying them to their hands using black string...coz it ain't a birthday party until a balloon has made an appearance!
I added a few co-ordinating sequins to add some sparkle, mounted the whole panel onto a kraft card base, and there you have it, a little chatty birthday cheer.

I really hope you like it and, as always, everything I used is linked below.

See you next week.

Stinkin' Cute.

Hi everybody,

Jill here, and this week, I've got something Stinkin for you...Stinkin' Cute that is!

Using Lawn Fawn's 'Stinkin' Cute'...and a whole load of other Lawn Fawn loveliness.

I started by stamping out and colouring my main element, this cutie patootie skunk from the Stinkin' Cute set. This is another mini set from Lawn Fawn and is such amazing value!  You get this gorgeous little fella, the sweet sentiment, and a handful of other little elements, hearts and flowers etc, definitely a bargain.  My balloon is actually an egg from Lawn Fawn's Chirpy Chirp Chirp set with a little upside down heart stamped onto the bottom, which I coloured using my Copics, and fussy-cut.
I cut the largest rectangle from Lawn Fawn's Cross-stitched Rectangle Dies from a piece of Lawn Fawn Cardstock, then cut my Grassy Border using the rectangle die to ensure it was the same size.  For some added detail and somewhere to stamp my sentiment, I cut a smaller white rectangle by cutting the same size again, lining the crosses back up to the width I wanted, and cutting again.

I used a piece of Lawn Fawn's Perfectly Plaid Paper Pad to use as a backdrop and cut a couple of little white clouds using Lawn Fawn's Spring Showers set, which I then cut theses amazing little faces from using Lawn Fawn's Make Me Smile dies - such an amazing and original set of dies, loads of cute little 'emoji' style faces you can cut from whatever, and wherever, your heart desires!  Just brilliant.

I stamped out my sentiment onto my wee white rectangle in black ink, and built-up all my little elements to create my scene.  I tied the balloon to my little skunk's hand using a piece of black thread, and embellished with a scattering of enamel dots.  I matted onto more Lawn Fawn cardstock, mounted onto my card blank, and there you have it.

I really hope you like it, as always, everything I used is linked below, so be sure to go check them out.

See you next week.
