(Stamped) Watercolored Anemones

Hi there everyone and happy Thursday!

I have a card to share today with products that I have falling in love with all over again.....

I forgot how beautiful the images were in Wplus9 'Watercolored Anemones'! I stamped the large image from the set in a light ink and then stamped over this using the colours I wanted. I also created a smaller flower and leaf cluster using the images from the set. Once these were all stamped up using various Altenew Crisp Ink I fussy cut around them leaving a small white border.

I added some details using some gold foiling but you could do this using gold embossing powder or even a gold pen.

I added the flowers on top of a die cut I had in my stash and then added the sentiment using Wplus9 'Hand Lettered Hello' die and stamp set.

Thank you so much for stopping by and I hope I've inspired you today :)

Hugs, Lydia x

Happy Ink Splotches

Hey crafters! Today's card is not an original design – I want to say that upfront. I have seen variations of this design across the interwebz many times, but never really  got around to try it myself. Well, with my new(ish) My Favorite Things Distressed Patterns stamp set, creating a design like this has become super easy.

I started out by figuring out which colors would work great together. As I keep saying (my apologies if you are getting tired of this) you need to work in the order of the color wheel if you want to avoid getting color mixes that are unpleasant to the eye (unless you are going for contrast, of course). I grabbed the inks that I thought would work great here and my stamping mat, since the stamp is fairly solid and I wanted to make sure I would get a great impression the first time.

The sentiment was stamped with Versafine ink using Wplus9 stamps. I just love the mix of handwritten and typed fonts, and black is a great contrast to the colorful splats of color. Of course I had to add a few sequins for additional sparkle.

The Wplus9 Hand Lettered Hello can be easily substitute with other stamps, even though it's great to have. For example, the Hand Lettered Thank You, also by Wplus9, would also work great as would the Brushstroke Birthday by MFT or the Scripty Sayings by Paper Smooches.

Thanks for stopping by today, I hope these bright colors made you smile!

It's been too long...

Hi crafty friends, today I have a bright and cheerful card for you which combines products from several different companies. The star of the show is without doubt the adorable elephant from My Favorite Things' Sweet Safari stamp set, though. I colored him up for the 30 Day Coloring Challenge a while ago and was just happy how much life I could breath into this critter by using grey markers only.

Since I wanted him to really stand out, I decided to go with a monochromatic background that would make him pop. I am using my stencils not often enough, and in this case, the Sun Ray Stencil by My Favorite Things came in handy. I only wanted the rays, not the sun, but the elephant covered up the circle so that wasn't a problem. I used two different Distress Inks – the light one covered the entire background, and with the darker one I sponged in the rays.

I wanted the elephant to stand on a grassy ground but didn't want any more color, so I left it white and I love the contrast this plain piece of paper provides. I also traced the outline of the sentiment from Wplus9 with a white gel pen for additional contrast and it looks almost like a sticker.

Thank you for stopping by today! Have a great day!

There are many alternatives to the grassy border die you can pick from, for example the Grassy Trio Creative Cut, Grassy Edges Dienamic, or Grassy Field Dienamic.
