Surprise Celebration!

Hi its me again!   I've got a fun interactive card using the new Bella 2.0 range from Stamping Bella but with an added twist of lemon.......

I thought it would be fun having Cosmoabella popping up out of a cocktail glass (OK it's a Margarita glass not a cosmo one but we'll just call that artistic license)  I used the Slide on Over dies from Lawn Fawn to make her pop up like a surprise out of a giant cake (or glass in this case).

As she is a little longer (and wider) than the stem on the glass, I added a strip of lemon paper from the new Summer Party pad from Echo Park which co-ordinated with the lemon die cut (part of the Margarita die set) which I used to conceal her hand.   I used my new favourite background stamp to add a little interest to the background panel too - Scattered Surface - its a great subtle pattern for all kinds of cards.

The word pull was stamped using the Avery Elle mini alphabet stamp and my tip for keeping the pull bar straight is to add a couple of strips of card either side of the mechanism to keep it in place.  I used a small foam square to attach the bella to the strip through the slider bar.

Hope you give a "pop up suprise" card a go - the possibilities are endless!

You're Not Alone.....(insert scary or happy noises here!)

Hi! With what was possibly the weirdest title for a post...I shall begin!
I wanted to tell a story, collecting together some of the stamp sets I had and creating something just a little more unusual.
Don't you sometimes find that you can't get the perfect sentiment? well, this was definitely a case in point, but the story began with snow caps..or duck feet to be exact.
I was sifting through some of my Avery Elle supplies and came back to this die set; 'Snow Caps Elle-ments'
I wanted to do something fun with the cable car but kept looking at the snow cap parts to go on the mountains. At the same time I had the Storybook set out too.
I looked at the duck and then the snow caps suddenly looked like duck 'footprints'. So I started playing with the dies and doing some colouring
By using the leftover cut out parts, I created a stencil and coloured through with copics/Shin Han markers. When you place them back together and shift the top layer down slightly, you get a fab effect
I ummed and ahhed for a while and realised that the card would only make sense with a sentiment and so I needed to make my own using the tiny alpha set Elle's Alphas
Truth be told, I hadn't time to line them all up exactly, so a slightly random placement obscures any slightly out letters!
I trimmed out some grass from patterned paper
Lastly, I added a couple of cloud outlines to give the idea of a sky without actually adding in more 'clutter' to the card
Add a little glitter around the clouds and all done!
Hopefully the title makes more sense now- it's either a card to cheer someone up because they're not alone, or watch out...you're not alone!!

Just another aside- the Winnie & Walter section of the store has been restocked- you might find the ones you've been waiting for. I created some cards with this set for the Rerun challenge over at the Winnie & Walter blog so thought I'd share one or two here to remind you to check that section out too!

Well , have a lovely Tuesday- and don't worry, you're not alone, you've us lot to keep you company!!
