Dad's Lovely Legs

Ehh??...Dad's Lovely Legs ??!!
What I'm talking about are two of the new Lovely Legs Stamp
sets for Dads from Colorado Craft Company which are geared up for Fathers Day but
of course you can use them for any male relative or friend and for any occasion too...

I have used PolyChrome Pencils to colour the Chillin & Grillin image then used a blending
brush and distress inks to give the image a 70's Polaroid style filter and cut a frame
to turn it into a photograph. I cut a slot into a piece of coloured card so I could
tuck the corner into it as you would a photo album and added Best Ever Dad
from Waffleflower's Be Him Sentiments.

This card features the Tee-Rific legs of the golfer which I have watercoloured
using Distress Inks. I wanted to get the effect of light and shadow on his trousers
using a few different shades of blues.... it was a lesson in learning when to stop and put
the paintbrush down and leaving it to dry, something I'm not good at doing 😉

I had fun making the dark blue plaid on the card base using the Concord & 9th Happy Plaids
set. The base colour was navy card and I used a dark navy ink and white pigment ink to
make the plaid... perfect for any golfer 😊

Don't think of these as just for Fathers or indeed Father's Day... by mixing them with other
sentiment sets or alphabet stamps you can change them up quite easily.

Thanks for stopping by :)

Just For You - Holiday Stamps Card After The Holidays!

Hi everyone, Taheerah here wishing you a Happy New Year and a happy Thursday!

I've barely gotten over the fact that Christmas has been and gone [sob]. That magical time of year always seems to be over so quickly! Apart from all the yummy food and fabulous presents and pretty decorations and wonderful traditions, I also just love creating Christmas cards. Something about all those holiday supplies really brings out my festive spirit! So, with my mourning of Christmas having passed, I thought it only fair I don't put away my Christmas stamps just yet!

I love it when themed stamps can do double duty. I decided to use the Altenew Holiday Bow stamp set, the Altenew Starry Night stamp set, and the Concord & 9th Happy Plaids stamp set and give them a post-holiday workout:

Gorgeous, right?! I love how this turned out!

I used a couple of shades of dusky pink to stamp my bow then fussy cut it out. I used the reverse of one of the plaid stripes stamps to create my 'ribbon' on my card - inking up the colours and dabbing/stamping the ink unevenly really gives a realistic crushed velvet appearance!

I decided my 'gift' needed a bit more pizzazz on the 'wrapping', so I heat embossed the tree stamp from the Starry Night stamp set all over the card front then blended some ink lightly over it to bring the detail out!

I fashioned my own gift tag by trimming the shape by hand and punching a hole in it. The sentiment from the Neat & Tangled Just For You stamp set was the perfect finishing touch, along with some sparkly ribbon of course! I adhered the tag and the bow with dimensional glue fell to give everything some custom dimension!

I'd love to hear what you think of this card. Is there someone you know who'd love to receive it? Thanks for stopping by!
