Oh So Jolly Gift Bag

Hello, it's Liz here. Today's project features an upcycled plain white gift bag. First of all I stamped, coloured and cut out the two figures (twice) from the Stamping Bella set 'Little Bits Winter Collection Figure Skaters' (matching dies are here). Then I used three of the figures to decorate the bag popping them onto green and blue cardstock which had been die cut into dome shapes using 'Stitched Dome Stax Die-namics'. Before adhering the domes to the bag I wrapped some twine around and tied a bow.

For the tag I wanted to stamp the sentiment from the 'Oh So Jolly' set by Sugar Pea Designs onto white cardstock but it just wasn't having much impact so I cut out a further two tag shapes from the green and blue cardstock and layered them together at a slight angle. Then I attached my fourth little figure to the tag using foam pads. I'm pretty pleased with how my little bit of upcycling turned out!

Thanks for stopping by today, happy crafting!

Gnome Noel and News

I had some stuff to attend to yesterday morning so Jenny and I did a swap, so here I am a day later than usual with your weekly round up of what to expect in store this week and with a project to share of course.

Today there was only one thing I could use - Holiday Gnomes from the latest release from Reverse Confetti.  To me they look like a particular brand of Christmas Elf called Tomte in Scandinavia which are beloved in my house - its the one Christmas decoration that stays up all year round.

I stamped all the elements from the stamp set on copic friendly paper and coloured with my copic markers.

I die cut the dome using an MFT die from a panel of white card and added some red stitched detail around the top.  On the base card I added some patterned paper for sky and some glitter card for snowy hills.  All is left is to layer up the elements, add some ruby glitter drops to make tinsel on the trees, and stamp the little sentiment in the corner.

NEWS FROM THE STORE

We have the new release from Reverse Confetti in store now

The Stamping Bella release is in transit and expected in the next couple of days.

Newton's Nook have a new release on Friday and we will have it in time to release when they do.

Mama Elephant have a highly anticipated HUGE new release on the 15th and it will be in store on release day.

Concord and 9th's epic new Christmas release is expected to ship in the next couple of days so there is a chance we'll have that by the end of the week but it all depends on when they ship.

Neat and Tangled's new release is also expected to ship sometime this week.

We have Lawn Fawn restocks on order and are awaiting a shipping date.

We are waiting for Avery Elle to get restocks of their latest release which is mostly sold out but we'll order more as soon as we can.

That's all for today - catch you on Friday.

Flamazing Flamingo!!

Hi, It's Jenny here on a Friday this week as Jill and I have swapped days!

As it's my first blog post after Christmas and the weather has been quite gloomy for the past few days, I thought a splash of colour is what we need.... so how about a pink flamingo to brighten your day??

This is my first time inking up this set and I found it quite easy to line the various solid parts up without the need for a stamping tool. Seeing as I hadn't been into my craftroom at all over the Christmas break I thought I'd go clean and simple and hope the mojo was still there *wink*

I used the largest Stitched Dome Stax die to make a negative mask and sponge a light blue sky before stamping the water ripples and palm tree. The flamingo is stamped and trimmed out (coordinating dies are available and on my wish list!) along with some greenery from the set.

For the sentiment strip I used the largest Oval Word Window die to cut a black banner and then heat emboss the wording in white. It's great how you can use either the frame of the centre piece from those dies and the rounded end matches my background inking too :)

Looking at the scene now I can see I should have put the sun in the sky.... perhaps I've forgotten what that is, I haven't seen it for quite a few days here!!

Happy New Year and thanks for stopping by :)

BBQ Apron

Hi, it's Jenny here and I hope you all had a good weekend 😄

I'm back with some more Waffleflower fun today and an idea which could make a fun guys card... and don't forget Father's Day is next month too 😉

The latest release contained two great BBQ stamp sets and I thought the BBQ Sayings would look great on an apron shaped card!!
I decided on a kraft coloured card for the apron and simply sketched the area to cut away on one side and then used that off-cut to draw around on the opposite side of the apron... that way the shape is symmetrical. For a background pattern I used the MFT Triple stripe background with white pigment ink..... any stripe or basic pattern would work just as well, you could even use a denim texture to give some subtle pattern.

I stamped, coloured and trimmed out the 'BBQ Star' image and a few utensils on white card before
adhering them to the apron, the tools tucked nicely into a large pocket which has been cut using MFT's Stitched Dome Stax dienamics.
I found a length of jute twine in my stash (I'm always hoarding stuff like this from clothing labels 😉) and used it to make the neck strap and ties for my apron. I used the trick of coating it with Multi Medium Matte to give it some stiffness and help shape and stick it in place.... it's like string-taming magic 😊😊

I'm quite pleased how it turned out and by having the fold down the side means the card stands quite well too.If you'd rather, you can easily download a free apron template from your computer or use a suitable shape die.
Since making this card the Meat Up stamp set has unfortunately sold out but the utensils in Lawn Fawns Lets BBQ would make a perfect substitution instead.

Thanks for stopping by, see you next week 😊
