Merry and Bright

Hello, it's Liz here today. The Christmas box has been moved to the front of the crafty cupboard and I've made a start! My card features two stamp sets both by Wplus9. The sentiment panel and flowers are from the Be Merry set and the reindeers are from the Santa's Reindeer set. I love the mix of modern fonts and the quirky way the reindeers have been drawn.

I have the matching dies for both of these stamp sets (you can find them here - Be Merry and Santa's Reindeer)so this card was super easy to make, just some quick colouring with my markers and job done. I didn't add any finishing touches or embellishments as I wanted to keep the look clean, modern and fresh, I hope I pulled it off!

Thanks for stopping by today, happy crafting!

Merry Poinsettias

Hi there everyone !

It's Lydia here with you today and I'm doing a little mixing of companies.

I have used Mama Elephant 'Poinsettias' and mixed it with Wplus9 'Be Merry', although these two sets are a very different style I do feel choosing the right images to work with from each set worked out well.

I started by stamping two of the small poinsettias and a mixture of leaves from the Mama Elephant set in a light ink. I coloured the images almost like a no-line colouring effect and then stamped over the images again and embossed in gold. I did the embossing after the colouring so I wouldn't stain the gold with my alcohol markers. I then cut these images out with the coordinating die set.

I then took the Wplus9 set and stamped the banner and sentiment within it and embossed in red. When cooled I went over it with a gold ink pad, just to tie in with the gold on the flowers, and then cut with it's coordinating die.

Before adding the flowers, leaves and banner into place I stamped some of the small branches from 'Be Merry' in gold to where the flowers would be to create a kind on spray.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I do hope you enjoyed my card for today!

Hugs, Lydia x
