Warm Holiday Wishes Plaid Card

Hi everyone, Taheerah here wishing you a happy Thursday!

We're certainly hurtling towards Christmas at full speed - and towards the colder months for certain! Whether you're one of those who eagerly awaits Christmas, or you don't care for the fuss, I'm sure you've noticed the chill in the air and the nights closing in.

That's probably what inspired this card - the desire to wrap up warm. Plaid and tartan are still very trendy right now, and when I saw the My Favorite Things Warm Holiday Wishes stamp, I just knew I had to pair it with a plaid:

Cosy huh? I feel warmer just looking at it!

There are many different plaid stamps out there, but if you don't have any, then no problem! I created this one by watercolouring with my Zig Clean Colour Real Brush Markers. It's imperfect and uneven but to me that just adds to the cosiness!

Once my watercolour had dried, I heat embossed my sentiment with white embossing powder, and mounted the panel onto a card base and was all done!

I'd love to hear what you think of this card. Is there someone you know who'd love to receive it? Thanks for stopping by!

Vintage Merry Christmas Card

Hi everyone, Taheerah here wishing you a happy Thursday!

Although we're not even in December yet, Christmas is starting to feel like it's not that far away! I've started seeing all manner of decorations and the like in the shops, and the crafting world is starting to burst with Christmas cards and goodies!

I have been buying up all the Christmas stamps in sight (they're my main weakness!) and as a part of that I recently picked up the gorgeous Lil' Inker Designs Vintage Christmas Wreath stamp set. I just love how in the midst of all the fun, modern styles that are out there, there's still place for this ornate beauty.

I couldn't wait to put it to use:

Gorgeous right? I love how this turned out!

I used the wreath to stamp the centre image and the leaves on the border of the card panel. Some simple watercolouring with my Zig Clean Colour Real Brush Markers and a little painting with some watered down mist was all this beauty needed!

I'd love to hear what you think of this card. Is there someone you know who'd love to receive it? Thanks for stopping by!

My Favorite Things Fancy Flowers and friendship

Hi everyone, it's Esther here. After the trauma of trying to find or make an envelope to fit last week's very long card, I returned to a plain ol' rectangle this time!

I started with a panel of card stock and cut it to size. I then inked a corner with water-based dye ink and splattered that heavily with water to bleach it for a patterned effect.

Next I stamped three flowers and stems from My Favorite Things Fancy Flowers, and coloured them with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens.

I stamped a sentiment from My Favorite Things Snuggle Bunnies, and then die cut a stitched frame using Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangle Frames. I popped this up on a matching frame of foam tape.

After that, it was quick and easy to assemble the various parts on to a top folding card base. It was even easier to find a suitably sized envelope!

That's it from me - see you next week!

Simply Sweet Forest Friends

Hi everybody,

Jill here, and this week, I'm keeping things sweet & simple...

...using the adorable Sweet Forest Friends from My Favourite Things.

Oh my, the little critters in this Sweet Forest Friends are soooo cute...I just can't!  The style of this set is so sweet, and lines so simple I wanted to stick with the same theme with my design and create a very cute and clean card.
I started by cutting my frames using Lawn Fawn's Stitched Rectangles.  I took the centre panel and stamped my design onto it.  I masked off as I went so the little critters could all be gathering in front of the tree.  I stamped my sentiment from the same Sweet Forest Friends set onto my panel and clear heat embossed.  I then coloured my images and my background using Zig Clean Colour Real Brush markers and left to dry.
Whilst that was drying, I took my outer frame and stamped one of the teeny flowers from the set all over it, I also took this time to stamp out a ton of the small flowers from the set onto a spare scrap of card.  I then coloured all of my pieces, again, using my Zigs and fussy-cut the teeny weeny flowers.

Once all my colouring was compete and my pieces were dry, I pieced them back together, adding an extra layer beneath my main panel so it stands slightly forward and added my flowers to my scene.  Once my scene was complete, I felt it was lacking one little touch, so stamped out, coloured and fussy cut a few of the little butterflies from the set and added them to my card.  This finished off my piece a treat and added some lovely dimension.
I finished by adding Glossy Accents to my critters eyes and noses and there you have.

I really hope you like it.
As always, everything I used is linked below.

See you next week.

Helping Easter chicks party hearty!

Hi everybody,

Jill here, and this week - I've got a question.  How do you turn a bunch of Easter chicks into all year round party animals?

Add party hats & balloons of course!  We all know there ain't no party until the balloons & hats make an appearance!

I'm sure you are the same as me and have plenty adorable sets, like the Chirpy Chirp Chirp set from Lawn Fawn which I've used here, that you dearly love and want to use all year round but they're focused on a certain theme, like with this set it's Easter.  So this week I thought I'd do a quick design to share how easy it is, with a few simple accessories, to stretch your stamps to fit any occasion.
I started by stamping out a simple scene using Lawn Fawn's Chirpy Chirp Chirp and colouring using my Zig Real Brush Markers with water to create a watercolour effect.  I also used my pens to create a wash across my background.  I then took Lawn Fawn's Party Animals set and stamped out the party accessories I wanted to add to my Easter chicks. This set is a brilliant one to have in your stash to help 'stretch your stamps' as, not only is it packed with adorable main critter characters, but it also includes a load of little cute accessories to 'stretch' your other sets.  I chose a selection of hats & stamped out a couple of balloons.  I then coloured these using my Zigs and carefully fussy-cut.

I then took Lawn Fawn's Scripty Cheers die and cut it straight from my background, cutting it a few times from black card at the same time.  I then built all my cuts back up to add depth, and pieced it back into my background.
I then built up my scene by adding the party hats and balloons to my little cute chicks, using foam adhesive to add dimension after already stamping the balloon strings straight onto my card.

I added a slick of Glossy accent to my balloons, hats, and chicks beaks, and a scattering of clear sequins to add a little sparkle and there you have it.
Easter Chicks ready to party hearty all year through!

I really hope you like it and it encourages you to get more from your themed sets.
As always everything I used is linked below.See you next week.

Otterly obssessed.

Hi everybody,

Jill here, and this week I am going otterly adorable with a peek-a-boo window card...

...featuring the delightful Otterly Adorable from Mama Elephant.

I am otterly obsessed with these amazing creatures, they are soooo cute, sweet, and adorable and best of all...they hold hands with each other when swimming so they don't float away!!!  I mean...gaaaaah *heart bursts into a million pieces*
So every time I see this sweet set, it just makes me smile and makes me want to ink it right up.

I've spoke before about how obsessed I am with my My Favourite Things Stitched Triple Peek-a-boo die and because there's a ton of different images in the Otterly Adorable set, all doing different things & swimming different ways, I thought it would work perfect to have a little group of them swimming along and 'peeking' through the windows.

It was a very simple card to make.  I started by colouring a piece of card in sea greens and blues to use as my background and, using the cloud border from Mama Elephant's Landscape Trio dies upside down, cut some waves from it.  I then stamped out all the images I wanted to use and clear heat embossed them so I had a raised edge ready to colour with my Zig Clean Colour Real Brush Pens.  I used them with water to create a watercolour finish.  My sentiment is from the same Otterly Adorable set and is stamped out and heat embossed within the banner from Lawn Fawn's Penelope's Blooms.  To add a little 'something something' to my sentiment banner I inked it up from the back in matching colours to background and waves.

I built up my little scene how I wanted it to look from behind the Peek-a-boo windows using wet glue and foam tape and embellished with a scattering of pretty clear sequins.
I adhered my vellum banner in place by placing a teeny bit of wet glue behind the most bold outlines and letters so that it is barely visible.

I really hope you like it and that these adorable otters make you as happy as they make me!

As always, everything I used is linked below so be sure to stop by.

See you next week.

Make a wish watercoloured card with silhouette die cuts

Hi everyone, it's Esther here with a watercoloured card inspired by Spring!

I started by watercolouring a panel with three Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens (041 Light Green, 051 Lemon Yellow, 027 Dark Pink), splashing it with water and mopping off for a bleach effect, then splattering over with three slightly darker shades (047 May Green, 050 Yellow, 082 Purple).

While the panel dried, I die cut a leaf spray from Altenew Botanical Garden, once in black and once in white, and layered these up for a shadow effect.

When the panel was dry, I splattered black acrylic paint over it and then die cut it with a stitched rectangle from My Favorite Things Blueprints 29. I added the leaf sprays to the panel and stamped a sentiment from Mama Elephant Make a Wish.

Finally, I mounted the panel onto a black panel underneath, then onto a white card base slightly wider than the top layers.

Thanks for stopping by!
