Fun with Geometrics

Happy Thursday!

It's Bev here today with a FUN geometric and masculine birthday card. It's my Dad's birthday at the weekend, and so I needed to make a card for him.

I was looking though my supplies to make my card and with limited masculine themed products, I was inspired to use the Waffle Flower Color Combos For Inkpads stamp set. As I've not got round to my intended purpose for using these stamps (swatching all my ink pads), it was nice to ink them up to create this fun background.

I decided to use the Altenew Lapis Lazuli collection which features two bright blues and two softer shades creating a fun combination. I used my stamping tool to stamp all of the shapes, this was to ensure I achieved even coverage with them being solid and new stamps.

The 'Happiest Birthday' sentiment is from Concord & 9th Confetti Turnabout stamp set and the DAD is die cut using the My Favourite Things Impact Alphabet dies and adhered to the card using foam adhesive for a little dimension.

This card would look great in all kinds of colour combinations, for women and all different occasions. Geometrics are my 'go to' for masculine cards and they come in all types of products too, not just stamps.

I hope I have inspired you today & I hope to share more masculine makes with you soon. Until next week, thanks for stopping by today.

Thank you with peonies.

Hello crafty friends.
It's Thursday and I'm back with another project for you. Today I'm playing with this beautiful Peony Notes Stamp set from Waffle Flower Crafts.

My first step was to stamp all the florals from the set on to a piece of watercolour paper with waterproof black ink and colour with distress inks in lovely pinks, browns and greens.
I also chose to add a little bit of sparkle with a shimmer pen and details with a white gel pen.
I decided to fussy cut them out, but you can definitely use coordinating Peonie Notes dies here too.

My next step was the background. As you can see, I've masked off the centre part of my card panel. For that, I've used masking paper, cut to prefered size with rectangle nesting dies.
I decided to use distress oxide inks in blues and purples for my ink blending.  I also added silver splatters with my paintbrush.

To adhere all of my flowers in place I've used foam squares - this added lots of interest to my card.
My last step here was to add a greeting, and for this, I chose sentiment from the same set cut with coordinating dies.
As a finishing touch, I chose white Nuvo drops and hand-drawn stitching details along the masked edge.

Thank you all for stopping by.
Please leave a comment to let me know if you like this card.

See you next week! Bye.

Magical Day

Hello, it's Liz here today. Do you love to mix and match your stamp sets? I do, and it's exactly what I did here. The sweet unicorn is from the Magical Day set by Neat and Tangled (matching dies here) and the flowers are from the Plentiful Petals set by My Favorite Things (matching dies here).

First of all I cut the background piece using my new Circle Texture die by Waffle Flower and attached it to my card with foam pads. I love this die already and it hasn't left my desk since I got it! Then I stamped and coloured the unicorn choosing some rainbow colours. To balance the card I stamped and cut a cluster of flowers and leaves. I gently curled the leaves a little with my fingers. I then attached the flowers and leaves to the card using foam pads overlapping them. The sentiment comes with the Magical Day set and I love that the words are separate stamps meaning I can stamp in different colours.

Thanks for stopping by today, happy crafting!
