Wishing You a Happy Birthday

Hey stameprs, Anni here!

Today I have a elephant birthday card for you.

I don't know about you but winter is the time of the year when I have the feeling my mojo is on vacation. I ask myself where it could be and imagine it somewhere on a sunny beach - far, far away from my crafting area.
In these times I turn to challenges to give me some inspiration. The inspiration for this card came from the Lawn Fawn challenge blog. For the current challenge there is a inspiration board you have to follow: a lot of reds, pinks, greys, glitter and hearts.
So Istarted by creating a background with ink blending with red and pink ink. I sprinkled some water droplets on it to achieve these bleached posts. While the background dried I stamped elephants and mice from Lawn Fawn's Wild For You and Elphie Selfie. I coloured the images with alcohol markers, added some details with coloured pencils and fussy cut them.
I die cut the polaroid from Lawn Fawn's Selfie Frames twice from white cardstock and glued vellum behind it. I arranged the elephants and a mouse in the frames and added three hearts. These hearts I die cut from red glitter cardstock with Heart dies by Lawn Fawn.

For the sentiment I chose the set Happy Happy Happy by Lawn Fawn again.I heat embossed the sentiment in white on dark grey cardstock and cut it into stripes.
To die cut the background I used Mama Elephant's All Prettied Up. After that all that was left to do was to assemble the card.

Thanks for stopping by and have a crafty weekend.
Anni

Wish Big!

Hey stampers, Anni here!

Today I have a very PINK card for you. I wanted to make a card with this super cute set called Elphie Selfie by Lawn Fawn. And I thought pink would go great with the grey elephants.

The card took me quite some time because I had to colour all these images. I used coloured pencils. Colouring with coloured pencils takes always longer than colouring with for example alcohol markers. But I really really love to colour with coloured pencils. It is very soothing to me, blending is easy and I get much more detailed with pencils. So when I have a little bit of extra time on hand I choose coloured pencils.

When the colouring and fussy cutting was finished the rest was easy and finished in no time at all.
I cut down a piece of watercolour cardstock into a rectangle and created a background by smooching down dye inks in lilac, pink and orange. I choose the colours I used for the images but in a lighter shade. On this panel I stamped one of the sentiments that were included in the stamp set.
For the last finishing touch I added some glossy accents to the balloons.

Thansk for stopping by and have a great weekend.

Elphie Selfie Baby Box Card Pop Up

I've been having great fun with the Lawn Fawn Scalloped Box Card Pop Up die set. Today I'm sharing a new baby card I made using it.

I thought I'd first share a tip I've discovered from making several of these box pop up cards.

The box card pop up die will fit on 6x6 paper, but remember you'll need two die cuts to create the box so two sheets of the same patterned paper. If you use 6x6 papers, you may want double-sided so there is some pattern or colour on the inside of the box. If you're not worried about that, any 6x6 papers will do.

On to my card, I die cut two box pieces from a 12x12 piece of patterned paper I had in my stash of supplies. I die cut three tabs and added grassy hills to each before putting the box together.

Next I stamped, coloured and die cut lots of images from the Lawn Fawn Elphie Selfie stamp set. I added these to the tabs with strong adhesive tape.

I used some thin strips of acetate to attach the bird and one of the balloons. This is a fun trick to give the illusion that they are floating.

The scalloped box card pop up die set comes with a great banner and different pennants to add to it. I used these to add a personalised banner to the card.

To finish, I added a card panel to the box card with a heat embossed sentiment on it, made up from greetings in the Lawn Fawn Elphie Selfie and Altenew Oriental Orchid stamp sets.

Thanks for joining me today,
Gemma
