Happy Forevering

Hello crafters! Tallie here and I'm back today with a wedding card featuring the Colorado Craft Company Lovely Legs Happy Forevering stamp set. I haven't used my coloured pencils for a while so this card was a perfect time to bring them out! These stamps have a lot of detail in terms of shading so are perfect to practice your light forms and shading.

I stamped out the married couple scene onto some white cardstock with some MFT Extreme Black ink. I used my Prismacolor coloured pencils to colour in the scene. I personalised the colours based on the couple I was sending the card onto. The trick with these wax-based pencils is to use lots of light layers, finishing with a heavier layer to make sure the the tooth of the cardstock is evenly covered. When finished, I cut this out with a Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangle die.

Using another slightly larger Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangle, I die cut two more rectangles, one from Blue Jay cardstock and the other from vellum.

For the card base, I stamped the MFT All Lined Up background stamp in some Versamark ink onto some kraft cardstock. I then layered the stitched rectangles onto the card base and white heat embossed the 'CONGRATULATIONS!' sentiment from the MFT Essential Sentiments set.

Thanks for reading, catch you next week.

Say 'Thank You' with Owls and Stripes

Hello, Tallie here. Happy New Year 2019 to you all! I wish you a year filled with love, laughter and happiness!

I've swapped with Tara for today's post featuring some Concord & 9th and My Favorite Things stamps to create some simple handmade thank you cards. Not all cards have to be complicated or have lots of shading on them, especially when you have a lot of gratitude for the Christmas pressies!

I started out by stamping the large striped background from the Concord & 9th Stripes & Sayings stamp set. I used several different colours of Lawn Fawn Mini Ink Cubes, sticking mostly to the more pastel colours of peach and purple.

I then stamped the heart line border and the sentiments from the same set in between the striped background.

I then stamped the cute little owl couple and the smaller branch from the MFT Forever and Owlways stamp set onto some white card stock with some Lawn Fawn Soot ink. I cut these out with my Scan N Cut, though there are coordinating dies available. I chose some coordinating pencils to quickly give some colour to a few parts of the die cuts. I adhered these with some foam tape to the stamped card panels.

These are perfect if you need to mass produce several cards, especially since you can customise the colours and greetings.

Thanks for reading and I'll be back on my regularly scheduled Wednesday slot next week.

Floral Aviary

Hello! Tallie here again with a simple, bright general card.

Today I have a card with a new (to me, at least!) stamp company: Flora & Fauna. Their whimsical stamps are wonderful to colour and I thought it was time I brought out my Prismacolor pencils! This card was made with minimal supplies - the stamps, ink, a stamp positioner, Post-It Notes, coloured pencils, a black pen and a gel pen.

On an A6 white top-folding card base, I stamped out most of the images from the Flora & Fauna Floral Aviary stamp set. I used MFT Extreme Black Hybrid Ink and a few Post-It notes so I could mask off some of the flowers and stamp others behind. When I finished, I used a black marker to correct those lines that weren't quite perfect.

I then sat in front of the TV and took my time colouring the images in with my Prismacolor pencils. I used lots of bright colours, building up the colour in layers so I avoided the waxy build up.

I used a gold gel pen to add some highlight dots to the image.

A cute little card to brighten up anyone's day!

Thanks for reading, catch you next week.
