Mother's Day Card

Hey stampers, Anni here!

Over here in Germany tomorrow is Mother's Day. Of course I wanted to make a card for my mom. And cards for my mom have to feature flowers. Concord & 9th's Fine Line Flowers were a perfect fit.

I started by stamping the flowers on a piece of watercolour cardstock with embossing ink and heat embossed it clear. I chose clear over white because watercolour cardstock is always off white and I thought the clear embossing powder would show that colour through.

For the colouring process I taped down the paper and coloured the flowers using watercolours. I kept it uneven to get a more artsy look.

I hadn't had a german Mother's Day sentiment in my stash. So I decided to create one on my own. My Favorite Things' Bottlecap Letters are my go-to alpha dies for sentiments on cards as I find they have just the right size. I die cut the letters for Mutter (german for mother) several times and stacked them up to achieve some dimension. I wanted to add a Zum (what means for) and Tag (day) in tiny letters. I decided to go with Mama Elephant's Lots Of Letters.

The whole sentiment I added to a stripe of vellum because I didn't want to cover too much of the flowers.
All there was left to do was to adhere the panel to a matching card base.

On which date is Mother's Day in your country? Let me know, I am curious. If it isn't in the near future you could add a different sentiment and the card would make a perfect birthday card.
Thanks for stopping by and have a crafty weekend.

Welcome Little Baby

Hey stampers, Anni here!

A crafty friend got a baby boy this summer! So I wanted to create a baby card for her.

I had this set called Nursery Deco by Mama Elephant for a long time but I haven't used it before - can you believe it! It is so cute!

I started by stamping the big giraffe once and the small one three times and coloured them with alcohol markers.
For the background I stamped the really fantasic Halftone Circles by AlteNew in Aqua tones. By the way: I think this set is a must have - it is so versatile and makes it so easy to create subtle backgrounds.

For a baby card I like to add the name of the baby. That is easy if you have a Alphabet die cut set in your stash. You see me often use My Favorite Things' Bottlecap Alpha for these occassions because it has just the right size for a card. I cut the letters I needed from scraps of cardstock and stacked them up to get some dimension.
I added a stamped Welcome to the sentiment from the Nursery Deco set.
When I looked at my card I had the feeling it needed a little more yellow. So I die cut some stars with the Confetti die by Mama Elephant and arranged them in a triangle.

Thanks for stopping by and have a crafty weekend.

Critters Down Under

Hey stampers, Anni here.

Last week I told you that there are coming exciting times in my family with two nephews graduating this summer. To make it even more exciting one of my nephews decided to spend a year abroad. He will go to Australia - holy moly!

To wish him a lot of fun I made him a card with the only Australian themed stamp set in my stash: Lawn Fawn's Critters Down Under.

I stamped all the critters in the set (I didn't use all of them in the end), coloured them with alcohol markers und fussy cut them (there are coordinating dies available, too).

To remind my nephew to text me from time to time on his big adventure I arranged all the images in a cell phone frame from the die set Selfie Frames by Lawn Fawn.

For the sentiment I spelled out "Viel Spaß in" what means something like "Have Fun in" in German with alphabet stickers. The word Australien I die cut from white cardstock using My Favorite Things' Bottlecap Letters. I coloured them with the same greens I used for the leaves.

I will tell you how my nephew will do far far away in Australia - I promise!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!
