Starry Circle Christmas

Today I have a starry Christmas scene card to share, using some lovely products from MFT.

I thought the MFT Starry Circle would be perfect for creating a wintry sky, so began by die cutting the circle from a piece of white cardstock.

I blended distress oxide ink in Seedless Preserves and Faded Jeans on to the circle, flicked it with water for droplet details, then adhered both the panel and starry circle onto white a card base.

To add a snow bank, I found a circle die, from the Hero Arts Circle Infinity die set, that was the same size as the starry circle, and die cut it from white card. You could use the circle included in the Starry Circle die set, as they can be snipped apart, but I prefer to keep these connected.

I then used a die from the MFT Ocean Waves die set to cut the circle down to create my snow bank. Even though this is a die set for creating waves, there is a die included that I think works perfectly for snow. I added the snow on top of the starry circle.

Next, I die cut some MFT Winter Trees from green glitter paper, and adhered them just under the edge of the snow bank.

Finally, I white heat embossed a sentiment from the MFT Hand Lettered Holiday stamp set, before cutting out with a MFT Stitched Sentiment strip and adhering on to the card.

This card is another that could easily be mass produced, if you work on each stage at a time. I’ve also kept the dimension down so it’s easy to post.

Thanks for joining me today,
Gemma

Blooms in Two Seasons

Hello there :)
Well as the title suggests I have a floral theme today. I have two cards, made using the Beautiful Blooms stamp set from MFT.... they are quite different which shows the versatility of these lovely stamps.... first up is summer lavender.

The stamps in this set require simple layering and this stem is probably my favourite in the collection.... I'm not sure if it's meant to be lavender but it sure looks like it to me. By manipulating the stamps slightly you can make the stems appear all different and I've added extras in the background with second generation stamping. We went to a local Lavender farm this summer and this scene just reminds me of the wonderful scent and the noise of the busy bees.
I added a sentiment from a Wplus9 set called Summer Blooms... love the hand drawn style of that one :)

Well..... I sat looking at the stamps and felt I should really give the others in the collection some love as well so I challenged myself to make a Christmas Wreath.....

I have to say this is my favourite of the two cards and yes... I think I've found my Christmas card design for this year ( I'm sure I've already said that and probably will again ) *wink*

I started by using the Triple stripe background in Soft Leaf on the 5" square card base and then drew around a circle die lightly in pencil. This is how I built the wreath up....

......first the leaves in Cactus Green

.....then the flower sprigs in Factory Green

....then the berry stalks in a darker green.
To add the flowers and berries I used Mama Elephant pigment ink in Brown Sugar and Winter then, using one of the dots in the stamp set, I added some extra berries in Avery Elle's Vino pigment ink.

I added the perfect scripty font from the Hand Lettered Holiday stamp set by MFT and then I decided to sit on my hands and call it done.... do you ever have to do that too??

I love that it's a completely different look from one set and you can of course mix them with other sets too for even more options :)

Thanks for stopping by, catch you next week :)
