Yeti Wishes

Hello, happy Wednesday!

Today I have a Christmas card to share with you featuring this cute little yeti from the Mama Elephant Me and My Yeti set. I've finally managed to finish and send all my cards for this year with the exception of a few extra special ones I will give to close family and friends. This card uses products from a few different companies, mainly because I had a bunch of die cuts and coloured pieces left over from previous projects and I never let them go to waste!

I started out with an A6 kraft card panel and stamped some of the small snowflakes from the MFT You Make My Heart Melt stamp set in Lawn Fawn Yeti ink, setting aside to dry.

I stamped the yeti from Mama Elephant's Me and My Yeti, coloured him in with my alcohol markers and die cut him with the coordinating dies. I had a coloured present left over from a previous project (it's actually from the Neat & Tangled Berry Merry set) and it fit perfectly between the little yeti's arms. I cut a stitched tag from a nice bright red cardstock, tied some twine through the top and foam mounted my yeti in the centre.

For the large sentiment, I die cut the Lawn Fawn Scripty Wishes several times and adhered them on top of each other for some dimension. The smaller sentiment is from the MFT Snow Globe Sentiments set, which I gold heat embossed on a banner of black cardstock.

A touch of clear Wink of Stella gives the final finishing touch!

Thanks for reading.

Me and My Yeti Gift Boxes

Hey stampers, Anni here!

You may have already noticed that I am totally into gift boxes - they make any gift better!
But what I  love even more are these super cute yetis by Mama Elephant! Let's be honest - the set Me And My Yeti has to be the cutest set ever! Don't you think?

I wanted to make some boxes for some crafty friends. So I started by die cutting Lawn Fawn's Scalloped Treat Box from patterned paper that I found in my stash.

Then I stamped both yetis three times as I wanted to make six boxes. I am not a fan of creating twice the same so I tried to make the boxes similar but each a little bit different. And I am a very slow crafter also. That's why I knew I had to keep the colouring to a minimum. I decided to keep the yetis in a light shade so I hadn't a lot of blending and shading to do.
I chose to colour them in a cool grey, a warm grey and a very light brown. To make them match the boxes I coloured the faces, the paws and the horns in the colour of the box.

After I finished the colouring I added some highlights to the cheeks with a white gel pen and deepend the black of the eyes with a black gel pen. Then the fussy cutting began (of course there are coordinating dies available, too).

As I wanted to give the boxes to some crafty friends I decided to use Altenew's Crafty Friends for the sentiments - just perfect for the occassion. There are so many great and cute sentiments in the set - I just love it.

What is your favourite stamp set at the moment? Let me know.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend.
Anni

Amazing Yeti Hugs

Hello and happy Wednesday!

Today I challenged myself to use a Christmas/Winter themed stamp for a non-Christmas themed card. I love the cute yeti from the Mama Elephant Me and My Yeti stamp set and the one with his hands spread wide makes me think he's wanting to give you a hug!

I started out with a piece of rasberry cardstock that was slightly smaller than my white A6 cardbase. Using a sentiment from the Altenew Amazing You set to stamp, I stamped it in a repeating pattern across the panel with some Versamark ink. I then heat embossed it with some clear embossing powder and adhered the panel to the cardbase.

For the secondary panel, I blended on some Distress Oxide inks onto some white cardstock and dropped some clean water onto it to give it that distressed look. Once dry, I cut it out with the smaller rectangle of the Avery Elle Wonky Stitches dies so that I would still see the background pattern when adhered.

I stamped out the yeti from the Mama Elephant Me and My Yeti stamp set with some MFT Black Licorice Hybrid Ink and coloured him in with my alcohol markers. I then cut him out with the coordinating dies and adhered him to the smaller panel, then adhered both to the card base.

For the main sentiment, I white heat embossed two from the Altenew Amazing You set on some black cardstock. I cut this out and adhered this just under the yeti's feet to ground him.

A final touch of clear Wink of Stella, a couple of sequins and I have a thank you card full of yeti hugs!

Thanks for reading, catch you next week.
