What's Kraken?

Hi there and happy Thursday ! Lydia here with you today.

Today I thought I would share a fun and punny card with you.

I grabbed my Lawn Fawn 'Lovable Legends' (which is on special pricing at the moment so check it out!) , and stamped the cute kracken onto some card using light ink. I coloured it using Copics and then added pencil shading (Fabre-Castell Polychromos) for added detail and depth. Once coloured I added A Wink Of Stella over it and some glossy accents and left to dry.

The watercolour pieces I have found in my scrap draw and wanted to use them, I found two pieces that matched (sort of)- the darker more purple one I used for the sky and strip down the card and the more blue one I used for the sea.

I cut the 'sky' piece first using the middle die of  Lil Inker 'Circle Mats', I then cut four circles using the same die from the blue-y watercolour piece. I then cut these blue circles using Avery Elle 'Swim Team Dies' and stacked these up on the 'sky' circle.

The punny sentiment is from the same stamp set.

Thank you so much for stopping by and I'll see you again next week.

Hugs, Lydia x

Unbelievable

Hello,
Today I have an unbelievable birthday card.
Well its not lol but that is the fun sentiment from the Lovable legends stamp set from Lawn Fawn.

I stamped and masked the big foot on to kraft card.
Then coloured them using Prisma color pencils.
Its not perfect colouring as I wanted a rougher look so have used little swirls to create different textures to the fur.
I used the icicle die cut for my grass and added a couple of layers.
The sentiment from the set is combined with the a birdie told me stamps and dies.
I added a scalloped frame from some black polka dot paper also from Lawn Fawn.

You're a Legend!

Sometimes it can be hard to decide what to play with after a new release, particularly this month when we've had almost 400 new items in stock!   However, there was one Lawn Fawn set which spoke to me as soon as I saw it in pre-view at CHA as I have always wanting to go Nessie hunting!  I reckon the only reason no-one has taken a decent photo of her is because they haven't asked her first....

I kept my card pretty simple as I wanted Nessie to shine so I stamped her onto some cardstock and coloured with copic markers in shades of green, pouncing over the top with a very pale yellow to give a reptilian look and adding some dark teal dots to the darker edges.

The loch was created by stamping the wave border line from the stamp set in blueberry onto vellum and dragging the paler blue yonder down away from the wave using a sponge.  I popped her in a port-hole style frame using the great new stitched circle frame dies from Lawn Fawn and finished with a sentiment on a banner given the same colouring treatment as Nessie for a cohesive look.

NEWS FROM THE STORE:

We will have the new MFT release in store on Wednesday morning.

We will have the long awaited release from Hero Arts in store next week too.

There are new releases in the pipeline from SugarPea Designs, Lil' Inker Designs, Winnie & Walter, Waffle Flower and Concord and 9th.  We'll be getting our orders in asap and hope to get some restocks too but we can only buy what they have and popular items are often hard to get - if you don't see it straight way it means we couldn't get it but we re-order popular items EVERY  time we do an order so they will come back eventually!

See you next week
