Hooray, You did it!!

Hello there and Happy Monday to you :)

August is the time for students to receive their exam results which, I'm sure I don't need to tell you if you have a family member biting their fingernails in anticipation!!! The Hooray Ribbon die and coordinating stamp set are great for this occasion as well as birthdays... nothing says well done like a rosette 😉

It's quite simple to fold the die and Concord & 9th have a video here to show you some tips and ideas for this die too. I used a bright sunny yellow and trimmed it with glittery black cardstock to match the sparkly black embossing powder for the rosette centre piece.

I stamped the bold stripes as a border on the card front and added a simple sentiment..... you could easily add a safety pin to the back of the rosette for the recipient to wear if you wanted too 😉

For a different style of card I used Concord & 9th's Above Average stamp set (which is in the sale section 😉) and I paired up with Sugar Pea Designs Notebook Journal Card dies...

Aren't those pencils just adorable, not to mention the paperclip!!.. I love this set of dies 😊
Okay so this is not so much aimed at GCSE students.... do they use pencils anymore in school at that age???
I couldn't resist the primary colour palette for a bold contrast on the Kraft base card .

Thanks for stopping by :)

Foxy Grad!!

Good Morning, Jenny here.... don't panic, it's not Monday!! Tara has a busy weekend so we have swapped blog days this week.... you'll be able to catch up with her tomorrow with a project and the usual store round-up :)

In the meantime I have a New Grad card to show you.... it's coming round to that time of year when results are known and Mortar boards are thrown... hey I'm a poet!! Lol

I pulled out Concord & 9th's Above Average stamp set and paired it with the fox from Mama Elephant's Three Amigos...

I love the big handwritten font and it makes quite a good focal point on its own but I thought the little fox could be the new Grad and share his news with you. I used lined paper from a MFT paper pad and adhered it to the card base at a jaunty angle then stamped out the sentiment with bright colours of pigment inks.

The little fox is stamped, coloured and trimmed out using scissors along with a mortar board from Avery Elle's Hats off stamp set. I used a Lawn fawn alphabet to add text to his paper and scattered a few coloured pencils at his feet. I felt the blue frame was needed to add an extra pop of bright colour and help ground the little fox in the design.... I wonder what he has a degree in???

Thanks for stopping by, Tara is here tomorrow and I'll be back next Monday :)

Hello, You're Amazing

Hello there everyone and happy Thursday!

I have a non-Christmas card to share, and it was so nice to play with some spring-like colours to create this.

I stamped the large flower cluster from Concord & 9th Hello Lovely in black so it filled up most of my card. I then stamped the flowers and leaves using the watercolour elements in the stamp set. I love the loose look that this gives.

Once I was happy with the image I cut though it on a diagonal twice to cut out a strip of the image. I adhered the strip to my card blank into place. I added a strip of vellum the same width of the strip I cut out and added it into place in between the other two image pieces. I stamped and heat embossed in black a sentiment from Concord & 9th Above Average. Then added this piece to my card blank with foam tape.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you like my card!

Hugs, Lydia xxx
