April Sketch Challenge Week 3

It's your final reminder to play in our challenge this month for a chance to win £20 to spend in store.  This month we have a sketch challenge - you are free to interpret it but we need to see that it was the general jumping off point for your inspiration.

You can rotate it to create a landscape card, go square for a scrapbook layout or even pop it in a shadow box to create a piece of art, and even combine with other challenges if you like (5 max), as long as we can see the basic sketch that's fine but don't forget you MUST use product we sell in store to play along (entrants that fail in this basic rule will not be commented on, will not win and may even be deleted)

We have one more great inspirational project to share from the DT.

Esther
I used My Favorite Things Fancy Flowers and Moon Rock from the Altenew Warm Gray Ink Cubes to stamp a background. A simple diagonal splatter of three colours of water-based dye ink stand in for the stripes of the sketch, and a vellum circle and the My Favorite Things Big Hello Dienamics in the same three colours of ombre ink are the centrepiece.

You have until 10pm on Sunday 23rd April to play along - just link up on the challenge page when you're ready

April Sketch Challenge Week 1

It's no April Fool I promise you, just a new challenge with a chance to win £20 to spend in store for the winner.

To get you started the DT are playing along too so here are a few ideas to start the ball rolling.

Gemma
I created the subtle stripes from the sketch by dry embossing the Cheers word die on the background.
Using: MFT Uncorked, MFT Wine Service, MFT Cheers, and MFT Inside Outside Oval Dienamics.

Jenny
I have used Home Sweet Home, Lock & Key, Bottlecap Letters and Rolling Hills dienamics
along with the English Brick Wall stencil to dry emboss a background with.

Tara:
Using MFT's Space Explorer and Altenew's Ink Spritz to make my astronomical stripes and two MFT Inside Outside Oval Dienamics to create my oval frame.

Thanks

Hello.
Today as well as a card to share I have some news.
I am taking a break from Seven hills crafts.
Real life has gotten in the way of making but  you still have the most awesome talented design team.
Back to the important stuff ...Today's card features Concord and 9th.

I love clean and simple and today Ive gone for a one layer card.
I have stamped all of the images with distress inks but any water based inks will work and spritzed with water.
This gives a very different look.
If done with water colour card it works very well and gives a more water colour effect.
The small dots were stamped in versamark and then dusted with gold powder.
Then not being able to resist the gold water colours i splashed some gold gansai tambi paint over.
The sentiment was then stamped in black archival ink.

I love making thank you cards and I'd like to say thanks to Tara and to everyone that leaves comments.

Hello Autumn

Hello.
As the weather starts to cool and the evenings get darker I was inspired to make an autumnal style card.

To start I stamped and heat embossed some of the leaf images in red and gold embossing powers.
I then die cut the card with the scalloped rectangles from Lawn fawn and distressed the edges.
And then I splashed lots of the gold gansai tambi water colours on the panel before die cutting again with the stitched rectangles.
I then water coloured a panel with more gold , while that was drying i die cut the hello.
the gold panel was placed behind the hello and then I added some red twin from Lawn fawn before adhering with foam tape.
I didn't want to added to much embellishment as the gold embossing powder has a sparkle to it.

In Bloom: Renee's Leaves Watercolour wonder

Hello.
Today I have a card featuring Winnie and Walter's  In bloom:Renee's leaves stamp set.

To start I stamped the image onto water colour card with versamark and then heat embossed in platinum.
Then using the Gansai tambi water colours I coloured the images really loosely.
I let it all dry then added splashes of the white gold from the starry colours set.

The panel was die cut with Lawn fawns stitched rectangles and also a smaller rectangle of vellum.
For the sentiment I used Lawn fawns scripty thanks die.
Its cut from water colour card and then coloured with the white gold water colour.
I adhered to the vellum and then added the same adhesive on the reverse of the vellum so nothing shows through once everything is put together.
To finish I added more splashes of the white gold.

Mermaid for you

Hello.
Today I have a  simple card using Lawn fawns Mermaid for you stamp set.
I have quite a few cards I need to send out just to say hello and I love the mermaids waving hello.
Unfortunately this set is currently out of stock but we have lots of alternatives from  Neat and tangled and Reverse confetti.

The images were all stamped in black momento ink and coloured with copics.
I then fussy cut them.

I thought the Lawn fawn bokeh paper was perfect as a kind of watery backdrop.
To finish I simply added some liquid pearl bubbles.

Dog-gone awesome

Hello.
With all of the new Avery Elle release in store I thought I would revisit an older stamp set.

I have used the furry friends stamp set.
I love these cute images.
The puppy is stamped in black  momento ink and coloured with copics before being fussy cut.

I thought the bed would be perfect to use with the seven hills felt packs.
As I don't have the matching dies I stamped onto the felt using black archival ink and again fussy cut.
I kept it all very simple and everything was put together on some patterned paper with some paw prints stamped in the same colour.

August Challenge Week 3 - Final Reminder

It's your final reminder for our challenge and this month we have a theme for you inspired by a window display I spotted on a recent trip to Liverpool.

So our theme this month is GEOMETRY - its time to start playing with pattern - you can stamp it, die cut it, emboss it, score it or even draw it with a ruler - we just want to see some geometric pattern on your project somewhere.  Don't forget though - you have to use at least one product from Seven Hill's Crafts to be eligible for the £15 prize.  With over 5500 items to choose from we don't think this is too hard a rule!   Entrants that don't follow this rule may be deleted.

Here's the final inspiration from our DT to spark your ideas if you're still wondering what to make.

Kindness blooms

Hello.
Today I have a card using the kindness stamp set from Winnie and Walter.

I started by tamping the trees and then colouring with copics.
Then they were fussy cut.
My card base has some green altenew ink blended on to it on one side.
I then added some washi tape before stamping the kindness in black archival ink.
I went over the sentiment with some black wink of stella.
The rest of the sentiment is stamped onto some white card and placed on the washi tape.
The trees were then added and i finished with some sequins.

Tickled pink

Hello.
I'm back from my blog break today, thanks Tara for filling in for me.
Today i have a card using the fun hogs and kisses stamp set from Avery Elle.

I wanted a clean and simple card but have used a bright colour to add a bit of impact.
To start I stamped the pig image onto my water colour card panel.
He was then coloured with Inktense pencils and a water brush.
Once it was dry I the water coloured the whole panel with distress ink.
For the main sentiment i i have die cut the scripty thanks from Lawn fawn in black so that it stands out.

Sweet smiles

Hello.
I have this fun gumball shaker card today using Lawn Fawns sweet smile stamps and dies.

I die cut the gumball machine first then coloured with copics.
Next I die cut a circle from the centre.
Then with the banner die cut panel i used the same circle die to make another hole and placed the gumball machine there.
I added a shaker pocket behind the hole so that the sequins look like sweets or gifts.
I used the sentiment from baked with love along with bannerific to finish the card,
