Happy Bear-thday!

Hey stampers, Anni here!

I had this bear from My Favorite Things’s Beary Special Birthday already coloured in my stash for a long time. So when I needed to make a fast card it came in handy.

I created a watercolour backgroundwith matching colours to go with the bear. I kept it light and soft so it wouldn’t take the attention from the cute birthday bear. To tone down it even more I die cut a one of My Favorite Things’ Stitched Circle Scallop Frames from aqua cardstock and added a circle of vellum behind it.

For the sentimnt I hose one of the punny one that came with the bear set and stamped it on a stripe of dark brown cardstock and heat embossed it in white. Then I cut the stripe into a fishtail banner.
To give the scene a frame I die cut a frame from My Favorite Things’ A2 Rectangle Frames from the same cardstock I used for the circle frame and assembled the card.

For the finishing touches I added some sequins.
Thanks for stopping by and have a crafty weekend.

Beary Special Birthday

Hey stampers, Anni here!

Now and then we all need a quick card for a birthday that takes us by surprise. For that occassions I always have some already coloured images on hand.

This time I needed a birthday card so I chose this super cute bear in cake coma from My Favorite Things' Beary Special Birthday. I stamped it (a long time ago) in black on bristol paper and coloured it with coloured pencils. Then I added some details and highlights with gel pens and fussy cut the image.

For the background I die cut a frame from Mama Elephant's Framed Tags Madison Avenue from watercolour cardstock. For the next step I only used the "inside" of the frame and smooched some ink mixed with water onto the rectangle. Is that the right term for the technique where you add ink and water on a piece of acetate and then press it onto some cardstock?

The sentiment came together from two sets: The speechbubble is from Lawn Fawn's Say What? Christmas Critters and the Happy Birthday from Lawn Fawn's Tiny Tag Sayings: Birthday. I stamped both on craft cardstock and heat embossed it in white.

Then I adhered all on a kraft cardbase.

Thanks you so much for stopping by and have a crafty weekend.

Watercolour birthday card using My Favorite Things and Zig pens

Hi everyone, it's Esther here with a bright watercoloured birthday card using My Favorite Things and Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens.

I started by cutting a panel from some watercolour card and using Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens and a paint brush to add splodges of colour in yellow, green, blue and pink. When this was dry, I splattered over it with black ink.

I then used My Favorite Things Happy Birthday to You Dienamics to die cut the sentiment from the panel and again from black card stock. I pieced these together as I wanted the lettering to be the same height as the panel and not recessed.

The panel was mounted to a slightly longer layer of black card stock and then onto a card base.

Finally, I stamped, coloured with Zigs and die cut with the matching dies the balloon cluster from My Favorite Things Beary Special Birthday and popped it onto the top right side of the card.

It's a simple card to make but I love how bright and cheerful it feels.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!
