Ninja Stars

Hello, Gemma here and today I have a fun ninja card to share.

I started by working on the background. I die cut an MFT Stitched Mod Rectangle , then die cut three MFT stitched peekaboo star windows from the rectangle. This die leaves a nice stitched outline on the negative space. There are also MFT Mod Rectangles available without stitched lines.

I blended colour on to each star with distress oxide inks (cracked pistachio, peacock feathers, and twisted citron), then adhered the panel onto a card base and inlaid the stars back in the spaces.

Next, I stamped three of the Mama Elephant Tiny Ninjas and coloured them with alcohol markers. I love the sketchy style of these stamps and they don’t take long to colour. I die cut them with the coordinating dies, then added them to the card with foam tape.

Finally, I die cut a sentiment for the top of the card, and added some matching enamel dots.

Thanks for joining me today,
Gemma

Hello Sunshine Floral Border

The Hello Sunshine stamp set from Altenew has been on my wish list for a while, so I was excited when the Altenew restocks came in recently and I managed to get hold of it.

I love the illustrative style of these flowers and leaves. I thought they would look great in black and white as there is a lot of detail to them.

I planned to use a stitched rectangle frame so I masked off the edges of a white card base so no stamping would appear outside the frame. I stamped directly onto the card base with black ink, to make a floral frame.

Next, I chose an accent colour (MFT Razzle Berry dye ink) and blended on some ink in two opposite corners of the rectangle frame, softening the colour out to white. I then added this to the card with liquid glue.

I die cut the Neat & Tangled Celebrate word die from white card, and blended on the same ink at the bottom, gradually fading to white. I added this to the card too, then stamped in the same pink ink, a small greeting from the Avery Elle Sentimental stamp set.

I toyed with adding some pink sequins but decided to keep the accent colour to a minimum and used clear sequins instead.

This is a simple design to recreate with any of your floral stamp sets, but I think it works particularly well with Altenew Hello Sunshine.

Thanks for joining me today,
Gemma

Thanks!

Hey stampers, Anni here!
With the holidays over I had to send a few Thank You cards, especially to my family for making this Christmas extra special. I found myself with no Thank You cards left in my stash. So I sat down to create a Thank You card.

I wanted to use the Gardenia Blooms Journaling Card die by Neat & Tangled for quite so time. It is beautiful, isn't it?
I die cut it twice from watercolour paper. I left the die cut in place to make the colouring easier. Because I had a second die cut I didn't need to be so careful to stay in the lines.
For the colouring I used ZIG Clean Colour Real Brush pens again.
I adhered the die cut with the negative space on a piece of scrap paper. The coloured flowers fit into the spaces like a puzzle.
For the sentiment I die cut the Thanks from the die set Sentimental Dies by Avery Elle and stacked them up for a little bit of dimension. That job is quite easy if you're using Stick it adhesive.
The word die cut fit perfectly in the space between the flowers. I just had to cut it down in length.
I assembled the cut and added some sequins for a finishing touch!

A card without stamps - totally unusual for me! Do you create often cards without using stamps?

Thanks for stopping by! Hope you have a great weekend!
Anni

Saying Thanks with Bunting

Today I am sharing cards I made using an older set from Avery Elle. Actually, this was the first set I bought when I started making my own cards again last year, and it's still one of my favourites.

I die cut a stitched square using the Lawn Fawn Stitched Squares die set.  On the die cut square, I heat embossed the bunting in gold. I added a die cut gold glitter bow from the coordinating die set.

Next, I die cut a 'thanks' from gold glitter paper. This is from the Avery Elle Sentimental set, another favourite of mine. I adhered this under the bunting, then stamped a greeting from the set underneath.

I added everything to a 4 inch white notecard and made a coordinating envelope. As this was a simple card to make, I made another in silver colours.

I think a set of these notecards would make a lovely gift.

Have a lovely day.
