A Family of Dragons

Hello, Tallie here.

My card today is inspired by those fun-loving dragons from a rocky town called Berk! I love these cute little dragons from the Mama Elephant sets Me and My Dragon and Dragon Wishes.

I stamped this family of dragons out with some MFT Extreme Black Ink onto some blending cardstock. I actually only used 8 markers from the cool greys - probably the least amount of markers I have used in a while! Some dot detail helped to add some texture details for scales.  There are coordinating dies available.

For the background scene, I coloured three panels with Distress Inks. I used Mowed Lawn and Twisted Citron for the grass, Rusty Hinge and Walnut Stain for the hills and Broken China and Mermaid Lagoon for the sky. I wasn't too smooth with my blending as it helps to give texture to the scene. I used two different dies to cut out the panels - Lawn Fawn Grassy Border and Mama Elephant Kingdom Trio. I stacked these onto a white top-folding A6 card panel.

I stamped out the 'Happy Birthday' sentiment from the MFT Essential Sentiments onto the front grassy panel before popping up the dragons on some foam tape. I arranged the scene so Mum and Dad are in the air with the kiddies scattered around.

A few sequins in the sky and some gel pen detail to the dragons finished off this card!

Thanks for reading, catch you next week.

Dragon Wishes

Today I have a clean and simple card to share, featuring the Mama Elephant Me and My Dragon, and Dragon Wishes stamp sets.

I love to add detail with background dies on my CAS cards. I die cut the Reverse Confetti Stitched Rays cover die on white card and adhered it to my card base.

Next, I stamped and coloured an image from the Me and My Dragon stamp set, then die cut it out. The cake and puff are from the Dragon Wishes stamp set, along with the sentiment.

I added the images with foam tape, then finished with some enamel dots around the stamped sentiment.

Have a lovely day,
Gemma

Dream Big!

Hey stampers, Anni here!

I am addicted to Distress Oxides lately! I loved them from the start but recently I use them again and again.

For this card I created the background using Distress Oxides. I started by die cutting two scalloped rectangle using Mama Elephant's All Prettied Up. One I used as the panel and from the other I die cut clouds from using Mama Elephant's Landscape Trio. For variation I also die cut some cloud borders with Lawn Fawn's Cloudy Hillside Pop-Up Add On.

I used different shades of green Oxide ink ( Pine Needles, Evergreen Bough, Lucky Clover and Cracked Pistacchio) and tried to achieve an ombré effect. To add a little bit of interest I also splashed some water droplets on the paper but also stamped some little stars using the same inks I used for the ink blending.

For the images on my card I chose different sets by Mama Elephant: The dragon and the tiny girl come from Me and My Dragon, the birthday cake I found in Dragon Wishes, the Balloon and the sentiment is from the set Space Bears. I stamped, coloured with alcohol markers and fussy cut all the images.
Then I assembled the card.

Thanks for stopping by and have a crafty weekend.

Dragon Thanks

Hello, Tallie here. I hope those of you in the UK are enjoying our heatwave. The temperature inspired my card today with a bright, hot background for my dragon. Like many card makers, I absolutely love this stamp set and just had to colour these characters up like Toothless and Hiccup!

I started out by stamping the dragon and the boy rider from the Mama Elephant Me and My Dragon stamp set onto some blending cardstock using some MFT Black Licorice Hybrid Ink. I had to mask off the top of the dragon's head with a post-it note to make it look as though the boy is sitting on the dragon's back. I coloured the dragon in with my alcohol markers using some cool greys, using at least 5 markers to ensure the depth of colour. For the boy, I chose some greens and browns. I then fussy cut the characters out, though there are coordinating dies available.

Since it's been hot here, I used some Candied Apple, Spiced Marmalade and Fossilized Amber to blend on some Distress Oxide ink over the MFT Mini Cloud Edges stencil. Working from the top down, I kept the darker colours to the bottom to add dimension so it looks as though there are layers of clouds. I then adhered this directly to a top-folding A6 card base.

I blended on some Black Soot Distress Oxide Ink onto another white panel and cut two pieces out using two of the Mama Elephant Kingdom Trio Dies. I layered these up at the bottom using some foam tape, white heat embossing the 'THANK YOU SO MUCH' sentiment from the Lawn Fawn Simply Sentiments set. A few sequins and a little dusting of Wink of Stella finish off the card nicely!

Enjoy the heat whilst it lasts!

Dragon Wishes

Hey stampers, Anni here!

Today is the birthday of a crafty friend of mine. And of course I wanted to make a card for her. As I know she really likes Mama Elephant's dragons I used the sets Me And My Dragon and Dragon Wishes.
I left the outside quite simple because I know I wanted to make a pop-up part on the inside.

I started by stamping all the images I wanted to use, coloured them with alcohol marker and fussy cut them. I also added some highlights with a white gel pen.
For the outside of the card I created a background on the middle of my panel by blending some light aqua ink. I also stamped fourties with the same ink (that's the age my friend is turning) to create a subtle effect. The numbers came from Lawn Fawn's Plan On It: Birthday .
Then I stamped the sentiment in black ink (from Mama Elephant's Dragon Wishes) and adhered a small dragon and a birthday cake from the same set.
And that's the inside of the card.

The pop-up part was easy to create because I used dies by Lawn Fawn. The mechanism is from the die set Stitched Hillside Pop-Up. You can't see this part on the photo because I covered it up with a die cut I cut with the Cloudy Hillside Pop-Up Add-On.
I added some coloured images from Mama Elephant's Me And My Dragon.

I really had fun playing with these stamps and dies and the dies madeit so easy to create a sky on the inside of the card.

Thanks for stopping by and have a crafty weekend.

Me And My Dragon

Hey stampers, Anni here!

Last weekend we had such a fun gathering of German (and one Austrian) stampers in a former monastery. I can't tell you how much I laughed and learned and how much fun it was. I didn't get a lot of sleep but my heart is full! There are so many talented, kind and generous people among the stampers that makes the hobby so much more fun.

And of course there were goodies involved. Today I want to show you the tags I made for the two girls from Berlin I drove with to the monastery.
I was dying to use these super cute dragons by Mama Elephant, the set is called Me And My Dragon. I stamped it with a alcohol marker friendly ink, coloured it and fussy cut it. After I finished the colouring I added some details with a white and a glitter gel pen: some highlight and some dots.

Then I die cut two scalloped circles using Lawn Fawn's Outside In Stitched Circle Stackables and some clouds using Mama Elephant's Stitched Sky Creative Cuts.

On one of the clouds I stamped the sentiment. I used one of Mama Elephant's Wishful Taggins.
I finished up the tags by tying twine to the tags.

Do you meet up with other crafters? With crafters nearby or would you drive somehours to meet up?

Thanks for stopping by and have a crafty weekend.
