Kindness card using My Favorite Things Fancy Flowers

Hi everyone, Esther here with a kindness card using My Favorite Things Fancy Flowers from the new February release.

This is such a lovely set to work with as it has a surprisingly elegant and tranquil feel, despite the funky doodling on the flowers and leaves!

I went for a mostly monochromatic palette as I wanted the single yellow flower to really stand out against everything else - like an act of kindness stands out in an ordinary day :)

I started by stamping the background all over in a repeated pattern using two of the leaves from My Favorite Things Fancy Flowers. I colour washed loosely over each leaf with one of my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens and a waterbrush. The background was then cut using the large rectangle panel from My Favorite Things Blueprints 29.

I then cut 5 layers of the tri-window frame (does that name make anyone else think of the Triwizard Tournament in Harry Potter?!) from My Favorite Things Blueprints 29, adhered these onto the background, and splattered liberally over the entire background with green and black specks.

Using the My Favorite Things Fancy Flowers set, I stamped, coloured with alcohol markers and die cut with the matching Dienamics three flowers and four leaves, and arranged these against the frame until I was happy with the layout and could stick them down with wet glue.

Finally, I used my favourite sentiment from the Neat and Tangled Calathea set, masking and stamping to get it into a straight line instead of a block. You could also cut it apart to achieve this. I cut round the sentiment using the longest sentiment strip die from My Favorite Things Blueprints 29 and splattered over it with green and black so it matched the background before sticking it down over the frames.

That's it from me, but I'd love to hear if anyone else has bought this set and if you're enjoying working with it like I am? I'll be doing a few more solid colour/ombre projects with the flowers for upcoming birthdays, and also experimenting with using multiple colours on the flowers. Such a fun set to play with!

Have a great week and thanks for stopping by :)
