Folk Art Flurries

I have a Christmas card to share with you today.

I wanted to have red embossed snowflakes, but I don't have a red embossing powder. To get around this, I started by stamping snowflakes from the WPlus9 Folk Art Flurries stamp set on to a piece of white card, using a red ink. I stamped them a second time in Versamark ink over the top, then heat embossed with some sparkle embossing powder. This gives the look of a sparkly red embossing powder.

I left some spaces on the card free of stamping so I could die cut some snowflakes from it. As I planned to add this stamped piece to a red notecard, I thought it would be nice to see the red card showing through in places. I used the snowflake die from WPlus9 Seasonal Sentiments set to die cut three snowflakes.

I trimmed down the white stamped piece to be a little narrower than the A2 red notecard, and used foam tape to add it to the card, leaving a strip of the red card showing on the left. 

For the greeting, I die cut two tags - one from white card and another from red glitter paper. I die cut the word 'joy' from the white tag, using one of the dies in the Seasonal Sentiments die set. I attached these tags together with red twine, and added a white glitter snowflake to the centre of the word. I added the tags to the card with more foam tape.

To finish, I added some small red adhesive gems to the centres of the embossed snowflakes.
