Irreverent Messages

I do like a card with a humorous edge so when Hero Arts released their Irreverent Birthday Messages set I knew I had to have it!   I have a friend with a big birthday this week so it got it's first outing using my favourite message in the whole set.

The sentiment saying "getting really high" made me think of a counter so I thought it would be fun to pair the sentiment with a counter just ticking over from 59 to the big birthday number.   To create it I used Inside and Out Stitched Rounded Rectangles from MFT to create some frames and used a corner rounder punch to create a matching matt.  My top tip for this die set, and lots of the American dies too that are all sized to fit US A2 cards, is that if they aren't long enough for your card, simple chop it and add a sentiment strip to cover the "gap" and then it looks like its much longer than it is and no-one will ever know!

I stamped the sentiment on red card to match the numbers which were die cut with Quinn's 123 dies which are currently out of stock but there are a whole host of number stamps and dies that could replace them and finished with a long row of candles stamped from the same Hero Arts set to emphasise the high number!

NEWS FROM THE STORE

  • We have our delivery from Waffle Flower and are working on getting it online - it will be available by Monday at the latest.
  • We have a delivery from Mama Elephant including their new release which will be live in store on Wednesday.
  • There is a also a new release from Newton's Nook which will be live in store on Friday.
  • We have our order in for the latest release from Concord and 9th but are waiting for them to ship it to us.
  • We will be placing an order for some of the new items from Altenew but we will not be able to stock the cardstock and envelopes, and won't be getting the glue runners either as we already have a UK based alternative to those so there is no point paying duty on such a basic item.
  • We will be doing restock orders for Avery Elle (including storage pockets), Lawn Fawn and Hero Arts this week which we would then expect to receive in April.
