I know it's Valentines day but I don't actually send any Valentines cards and my muse generally doesn't suit the pinks. Instead, I bring you a brightly coloured birthday card! I've had this set for a while and always pull it out for those birthdays where the recipient has a fun personality. These cute little animals can't fail to put a smile on anyone's face!
I started out by stamping all the animals from the Lawn Fawn Wild For You set using Versafine Black Onyx Ink onto some watercolour card stock. I coloured them in using my Zig Clean Colour Real Brush Markers and a water brush. I stuck to light, bright colours so they would stand out from the background. I looked in my stamps and found some good sized leaves in the Lawn Fawn Critters in the Jungle set that would perfectly frame my animals. I stamped and coloured these in the same way as the animals and cut them out with the coordinating dies once dry.
For the background, I blended on some Fired Brick, Spiced Marmalade and Fossilised Amber Distress Ink onto a horizontal A6 card base. On another, I blended on some Mowed Lawn and Twisted Citron Distress Ink and cut out two grassy hillside borders so I had something to ground my critters.
Before adhering anything, I stamped out the sentiment from the set in three lines. I wanted to accentuate the 'WILD' so I stamped this on some white card stock and fussy cut this out. I then adhered the leaves and one of the grassy borders directly to the background panel. Using some foam tape I then popped up the animals and remaining grassy border.
A few clear sequins finished the scene off nicely!
Thanks for reading and Happy Valentines Day to those that do celebrate today! :)
