Brighter Days

Hi, Jenny here hoping you have a good start to the week.
I'm also hoping the temperature starts to rise and we can finally get back to spring which is
reflected in the sentiment on today's card....

I was rather smitten with the new layering stamp sets illustrated by Kamo in the recent Waffleflower release. They have an old story book feel to them harking back to the days of Enid Blyton so I wanted to try and build a scene and use the classic old print colours.

This set is called Biking Girls and it does take a bit of practice to get the layers lined up right. My advice is to use blacks and greys with a strong colour as an accent whilst you practice on scrap paper but the style of artwork is quite forgiving anyhow if you don't get it quite right.

I stamped the girl and her bike onto separate card so I could trim her out with scissors. The set comes with a few spots to add texture to the ground but I decided to use Avery Elle's Shine Bright and Modern Trees from MFT to add some scenery.

As always, the sentiment gave me the most trouble.... what to put? this stamp set could be used for lots of occasions and then where to put it within the scene!! quite pleased with my final decision.... anyone else have the same problem??

Thanks for stopping by :)

    1. Thanks Katya :)
The black and grey are Memento inks and the red is Fired Brick Distress Oxide. The touch of blue in the ground and clouds is Mama Elephant Winter Pigment ink but it hasn't photographed very well... looks a lot more blue than grey in real life ;)
      Hope that helps x
