Pantone Colour of the Year 2018

Happy New Year to you all!

For my first post of 2018, I thought I’d share a card that's inspired by the Pantone Colour of the Year. This year it's Ultra Violet, which is a blue-based purple. I love purple so it’s perfect for me.

As purple can be quite a mystical colour, it made me think of a galaxy sky for my card. I created a starry sky with some distress inks and a white gel pen. I would usually use white acrylic paint to add a splatter of stars, but a white gel pen is a less messy way to achieve a similar look.

Then I heat embossed a greeting from the Winnie and Walter Wishing You stamp set, in white on vellum.

I wrapped the vellum sentiment banner around the sky background, securing at the back. I then adhered the panel to a card base and finished with some iridescent gems.

Thanks for joining me today,
Gemma
