Monster Love

Hi everybody,

Jill here, and this week I've got some monster love for you.

Using the brilliant Monster Jam from Mama Elephant.

I LOVE this set from Mama Elephant but can sometimes find it hard to make a card featuring just one set when composed of such small images despite how amazing those images are, so thought I'd give it a whirl and see where it took me.
This little guy spoke out to me, with his 'booming' heart and his adorable expression, I just knew I wanted to use him as my main feature as he definitely has enough character to hold his own.

My card was very simple to make; I simply stamped out my little monster creature and coloured him using my Zig Real Colour Brush Markers then fussy cut.  I stamped my sentiment along the bottom of my panel and clear heat embossed.  I then went to town on my background using a product called Brushos (Google them - awesome product).  I wanted to create an explosion as if my little monster's heart couldn't hold the love any more and had to burst out all over.  You could use so many different products to create the same look; you could use your inks or your Zigs mixed with water, or a background stencil or stamp.  Once my background was dry I added a few flicks of black to add a little extra interest.
I cut my panel using Lawn Fawn's Stitched Rectangles and framed with black card.
My adorable monster is adhered using foam tape to help him stand out and covered in a layer of Glossy Accents to finish him off.

I finished my design with a scattering of enamel dots and sequins and there you have it.
Hopefully this card shows that even the smallest images can still pack a real punch and create quite the impression.

As always, everything I used is linked below so be sure to have a peek.

See you next week.
