I've gone girly this week as I couldn't wait to get some ink on the new floral sets from Wplus9 that released on Wednesday - Southern Summer Florals 1 and 2. I didn't quite get the time to ink up both just yet so expect to see them again at some point but I've started with a CAS card with Southern Summer Florals 2.
I stamped the large floral using two shades of purple from Altenew's Shades of Purple ink, the remaining florals using oranges from Warm and Cozy and the leaves from Tropical Forest before using the co-ordinating dies to cut them all out.
I used the Lafayette die from Mama Elephant to cut the rounded rectangle, twice to layer it up for some dimension and then arranged the florals over one corner. I added a few dots of black enamel accents to the flower centres.
For the sentiment I used Altenew's Inline Alpha dies to spell out hello from some thick white card and I then heat embossed it with their gorgeous new Golden Peach embossing powder. This is a fun technique if you've never done it before - simple press the front of each letter into your versamark ink pad and then dip into the embossing powder with fine tweezers. Pop your letters onto some washi tape or the sticky bit of a post-it note to hold them and heat emboss. Et-voila - your own sticker style glossy letters. I'm not normally a fan of gold, but this golden peach colour is something else - its so soft and feminine I love it!
The card was finished with a stitched mat layer to match the inner element.
NEWS FROM THE STORE
We have the following in transit and expected to arrive at some point this week - we can't be more specific than that as there are lots of factors beyond our control that affect when we get stuff:
There is also a Waffle Flower release this month but it is not yet open for retailers to order - we will get it as soon as it is but don't expect it before the end of the month.
Catch you next week
