Treat Yo Self! Giant Ice-Cream Kitty Card

Hi everyone, Taheerah here wishing you a happy Thursday!

It's no secret that I'm a cat lover. With two kittens recently added to my furry family I'm well on my way to crazy cat lady status! I also love ice-cream. With the hot weather I've indulged quite a bit in ice-cream in the past few weeks. I've probably eaten a mountain of ice-cream at this point - and I'm not even sorry.

You might be wondering why I'm talking about cats and ice-cream in the same paragraph. Well, with the most recent Newton's Nook release these two loves combined with super-sweet results! I'm talking of course about the Newton's Nook Newton's Summer Treats stamp set - and I couldn't wait to play with it!

Let's be honest - I'm basically Newton in this scenario.

I mixed some white embossing paste mixed with some reinkers to create my vanilla and strawberry ice-creams. I then freehand created my giant scoops of ice-cream. Don't they look so realistic?!

The chocolate flakes/crumbs were also made from coloured embossing paste. I spread it onto some acetate and left it to dry before scraping it off. Tapping it lightly into my strawberry ice-cream gave an awesome effect!

It was time Newton made an appearance! I partially stamped him and then coloured him with Copics, adding some detail with a white gel pen. I trimmed him out and adhered him with dimensional glue gel. Look at him about to go to town on that giant ice-cream!

My sentiment is in the form of a Cadbury's Flake! I coloured a piece of white cardstock with Copics, adding the detail with the chisel tip. I freehand trimmed the Flake shape, then heat embossed the sentiment in white.

I added some extra vanilla ice-cream where the Flake was tucked in. Doesn't it look good enough to eat?!

I'd love to hear what you think of this card. Is there someone you know who'd love to receive it? Thanks for stopping by!
